This is a great zoo. It is quiet large and I like how they really work with heights throughout the whole zoo. There are also a lot of different kind of animals. The size of the zoo and the animal species makes it possible to have fun for hours! What I like most about the zoo is the nature that it has got to offer. It looks amazing!
Also quiet nice is that you can park for free in the neighborhood.
What I did not like is that some animals do have small habitats. However there are some animals that have a lot of space, such as the lions, and I think every animal deserves that,

Had an Amazing Day At The Zoo. It Is Fairly Big And a Wide Selection Of Animals. The Sad Thing Is That I Feel The Animals Do Not Have Enough Room For Their Enclosure. The Other Downfall And It Is a Very Big Downfall Is That It Is Very Steep. It Is Hard For Families With Pushchairs & Wheelchair Users To Walk Up Hill.

Really great zoo with a very nice exhibition and many a place to visit.
Most of the animals seem to have enough space to roam in and everything seems really clean an well handled.
The price is more than fair, seen the dimension of the place.
Our visit lasted about 7 hours so I'd recommend going there in the morning.

Come here for the lions! Quite pleasing to see them in a specially dedicated LARGE enclosure as opposed to the usual. All in all it's an interesting zoo to visit, well worth traveling 100+ km for. Lots of cute animals. Monkeys are spectacular. Family friendly and accessible. Also: far cheaper than most other zoos in Europe. €14 is the cost of a standard [adult] entry ticket. €12,50 for students.

In this zoo we can find a variety of wild animals, the places where they are well conditioned, in optimum places of their habitat. The zoo has several seasons and presentations of the same animals at different times of the day. It has bathrooms, access to wheelchair cars etc, also has food stalls, photo rooms and a large store to buy your souvenirs. As a recommendation, wear comfortable clothes according to the weather, water, something to eat and the best way to see these beautiful animals!

Nice Zoo. I would say, it's a combination of a Zoo and botanical garden. Plan at least 2 hours for a visit. Little kids will definitely like Junior Zoo.

Great place to visit with the family.Affordable tickets, plenty of food kioks and lots of stuff for kids to do.Shame some of the animals are not out and building work going on.Hope it will look better once completed.

A nice zoo on the edge of a lovely forest. As far as I know, they pay attention to both the well-being of animals and conservation of species. And Mylo the seal is the best, he's a great personality. :)

The price for one person is 14.50 Euros, children's under 6 years are free. The zoo is really big and built in a hill so be prepare for ups and down. Old age people can hire electric taxi which takes you around the zoo. Children car is also available. Some animals were easy to see but some of animals were not visible. There is only one main restaurant, there are couple of Kiosk available. Keep some water to drink with you. It's expensive to buy inside the zoo. There is also a Junior Zoo, where kids can play with small Goats and can do some other farms tasks.

Top attraction in Wuppertal, great selection of animals and playgrounds, enough to keep you and your children entertained for the whole day. They are constantly working on improving the enclosures and facilities in the Zoo. Very nice small restaurant and takeaway in the centre with views of the elephants.

One among the best zoo's! Huge! Well maintained, animals have ample space and you get see different animals, kids will love it. Pinguins, Tigers, Lion, are Highlights.. be prepared to walk because it's widely spread and hike a little! Play area for kids both with dry and water is available.... We enjoyed our visit!

Massive place, enough for everyone; there were 3 long queues when we came but once we entered, everyone has disappeared somewhere:) They also has good restaurant, a place for children to caress animals and a place for picnic. Be prepared to spend the whole day there.

I'll definitely miss this place, the entrance is a bit expensive compared to other zoos I've been in (I think it was 17-18€), but it was something to remember for a very long time!

Lovely zoo but I think the age is showing. Whit a bit more tlc this can be help I think, some cages are also a bit old. But I had the impression they thinking about the animals when they build new cages.

It's a very nice zoo with a huge variety of animals but if you don't work out and aren't accustomed to climbing up steep hills then this place is not for you. I had my toddler with me and within the first 15 mins I was sweating and my legs were on fire, but maybe that's because I don't work out and walk up steep hills regularly. Besides the "workout" the zoo is very nice with a park asthetic, also a has a huge playground for children of all ages.

One of the best zoos that we have ever visited. The lions, tigers and bears are kept in large enclosed areas that simulate their natural habitat. We did not notice any indication of hospitalism, which is a good sign.

Great territory, a lot of animals. Great variety of observation points. Especially impressed by towers for lions observation.
From the contras I can mention that it was impossible to buy ticket by VISA or MasterCard, only some local card type is accepted. So be ready to bring cash. And a paper with the map of the zoo costs extra 50 cents.

There is also a good combo ticket with public transport. All day use of wuppertal public transport + zoo ticket for the same price as the zoo ticket would cost on it's own

Nice place to spend a weekend. Built in a very upscale neighborhood. I rather roamed outside the zoo. Snow leopard was a main attraction but they look so tired.

One of the best zoos I have been too. Great variety of animals, large housing for several of the more exotic animals. Has a petting zoo for the kids and also a decent play ground. Kiosks and the snack restaurant are great. Staff is very friendly. Nice explanations, while there are feeding sessions (whose times can be looked up). Nice for a walk as well. They even have multi visit tickets for the more enthusiastic visitors and kids. Full recommendation.
