I cannot speak highly enough about the staff at Topaz. I called in a panic when my heeler stopped eating and drinking for 2 days. The clinic was able to see me same day, performed a battery of tests, and was able to begin treatment immediately.
The vet gave me her cell phone number to stay in contact while my pup was on the mend; she texted and called regularly to check in and requested updates from me on his progress. He is fully healed now and I couldn't have kept my cool without the doctor's reassurance.
The employees at Topaz are well aware that veterinary services can be an unexpected expense. They discuss in detail the cost for any procedures with the customer before moving forward. I really appreciated this; although the tests my dog needed were expensive at least it wasn't a surprise. The doctor was also willing to discuss possible alternative treatments if the cost was prohibitive.

Thank you for a wonderful first appointment and making accommodations for my special pup. My 2 year old corgi had terrible experiences at another vet clinic in his first year of life, causing him to become afraid and “aggressive” whenever he needed shots or a vet visit. Since the start of the pandemic, he’s also become leash reactive, which makes things harder at the vet. Paco had a wonderful first appointment today where he felt comfortable, safe, and in good hands with Dr. Marzke-Berthiaume and Grant. We will definitely be staying here!

Topaz Clinic did not just cured my pet!
I'd like to write this review on behave of magnificent place with great appreciation for the services provided to cure my dog. My dog has an ear infection she could not handle anymore. My dog last a few days without sleeping and being so scratchy on her ear. I felt like I did not know what to do! I had no hope to find a place since I'm new to this valley and hesitant about where to go because of COVID and they go with the rule.
Thanks to life, there is responsible people of their profession.
Out of no idea where to take my dog, I just call the first one I found online. Fortunately, I was able to meet their clinic with a prompt appointment. My Husky dog is doing much better and I relieved my stressed.
By this great experience, I certainly recommend people with pets to try this doctors when emergencies arrive. They are dedicated to what they do, treat people and pets with great enthusiasm and respect. They offer direct attention to the client and overall helping our pets, and They have an excellent area to join with clients. I have not enough words to show appreciation for people dedicated to help with animals sicknesses.

I was first drawn to Topaz by their CoVid precautions. I appreciated their concern and care. I've seen both vets with my two dogs and they are knowledgeable and professional. The staff are friendly and respectful. Of course I'll return!
By the way, the little dog is 18 and bigger one is 14.

The owners care for all of our pets and will do everything they can to help our sick pets even skipping breaks as needed to make sure our pets get the best care with a very friendly and helpful staff!
There are times that they are so busy that they can't fit us in right away, but they do give information on emergency clinics when needed and schedule us in as soon as they can when not so urgent!

Found Topaz online, used and loved them for past 5 years. Dr. B is amazing with our 2 dogs and 2 cats, from valley fever through routine vaccinations. Used them for a house call during covid, great price, 1 doc and 2 techs showed up done in 30 minutes with all 4 animals. Love these guys and cannot reccomend them enough.

I've had the same Pet Vet for 22 years. I needed help for my cat and dog last week, they couldn't see them. Some how I found Topaz Veterinary, I can't say enough about how they cared for my cat. Just awesome great caring staff, and Dr. B., if I could, I would adopt him.
If you're smart you'll never go any place but here, if you truly love your pets to get the care they need, this is the place. :)

I found this vet through reviews. My first couple experiences were with Dr B, and he is excellent. Unfortunately he is not the whole of this clinic, and the rest of my experiences have been horrible. Last year we had to see Dr Borne for our dog’s annual checkup. He didn’t need shots or anything, this literally should have been a $50 check up. We recently moved into a house with a yard, and I noticed he was a little itchy so I asked about allergies and what I could do (bathe more, or less, allergy shampoo, etc). They kept us waiting in the exam room for over an hour and the vet tech finally comes in with a $400 invoice for the appointment, listing all the extra charges for allergy medications and treatments. I had to cross out and initial every item that I was choosing not to do. I felt like Dr Borne was up selling me with every detail, the vet tech was just a sales associate, and I was being essentially held hostage until I paid up. At the end of the appt we were there for almost 2hrs(!!!!) and I paid over $150. Not happy. I should’ve left a review then but I was uncomfortable leaving a negative review and then coming back for another appointment, so I just hoped it was a bad day for everyone involved.
Unfortunately my experience gets worse. A couple weeks ago I noted my 13yr old cat has labored breathing. I called Topaz first thing Monday morning to get in, explained what was going on with the cat, but the earliest they could see me was “next Tuesday” 8 days later. No mention of emergency vet, cancellation list, trying another vet. So I naively trusted them that her condition could wait 8 days. It couldn’t. She died before her appointment came. I now know that labored breathing is an emergency situation and a veterinary clinic should know that and should treat it as such. I couldn't have made a worse mistake than to trust Topaz. I will never take another pet back there.

Topaz is a good vet clinic, but in the last couple years, I think they have gotten more sales focused and a little less pet care focused. The customer service is really great though, the vets will get down with your dogs to make them feel comfortable. Topaz a good vet to go to, a lot better than some of the emergency vets in Tempe.

Me and my wife have been taking all three of my pets here for four or so years. They're very kind to us and very understanding of how difficult and skittish our two rescued dogs can be since they came from unknown and possibly abusive backgrounds. Even though Bella and Leo can be aggressive, yell at the vet techs, and need to wear mussels, they've never lost their cool.
Also, my cat, Napoleon (depicted here, what a handsome boy) is 13 and recently got a mass on his neck. I'm really impressed by the quality of care Dr. Berthiaume gave him through the mass removal surgery, even in the middle of this pandemic when they've got to redo all their policies and procedures. He and his vet tech answered all my questions and gave Napoleon lots of head pats along the way.
Having an elderly cat and facing the possibility of an aggressive cancer is really tough, but the staff here has shown a lot of empathy and hasn't hid information from me (which is more than I can say for my grandmother's oncologist when he told us she had a Glioblastoma; how can you be a cancer doctor and not know how to tell the family someone's brain tumor is terminal? I had to Google it myself and inform MY OWN family of how bad it was because the doctor and all his staff dropped the ball).
Topaz has been very upfront with their pricing, explaining each item on the estimates, what it's for, and if it may go up or down once the procedure happens. I've taken Napoleon to four or so vets over his life as I moved around town, and Topaz has the best and most transparent pricing I've found without compromising on the quality of care. I'm really thankful that we have such a good vet with great staff close to home!

Long story short, went on vacation to Texas, got lost in Corpus Christi, found an abandoned puppy & brought her back to AZ. She was emaciated & flea infested when we found her so we brought her to Topaz as soon as we got back from vacation. It was discovered she had some worms so Topaz prescribed some meds. The first visit I felt was pretty reaonably priced for exam, shots & meds & stool test it was about $150. Pearl has been tested again after meds & is coming up negative for worms now! I feel like all the staff is knowledgeable & nice & want to help you be the best pet owner you can be! I used to take my other dog Pawco to VCA but will likely switch him to Topaz because they seem to be more reasonably priced. Thanks Topaz Vets & staff!

I love these guys. I am ao lucky to have found a good vet around here after having been ro so many bad ones! I tend to have poor experiences at doctors and vets for whatever reason but not here. They really care. My main little fur girl is 17 years old and they have already saved her life several times.

Dr. B is such a kind, caring veterinarian and I'm so happy I found his clinic. I was going to another clinic much farther from my home and I never felt the staff or the doctor really cared about my dogs. I felt they were more concerned with making a profit than providing the best care for my pets.
From the first time I called Topaz Veterinary Clinic, I felt much more at ease than my prior vet. The receptionist was very friendly and answered my questions. Making an appointment was very easy and I appreciated the new client discount they offered, making the visit very affordable.
Our Staffy recently had a liter of puppies and unfortunately, one of them didn't make it. I truly felt Dr. B genuinely cared about the health and welfare of the puppies and did everything he could to help save the one who died. He actually sent us a handwritten sympathy card expressing his condolences!! I've never ever had a vet do something like that and I truly appreciate his kindness.
Dr. B is seriously the best and I'm so grateful I found his clinic! I'll never take my dogs to another vet and will be a lifelong client for sure!

Topaz Vet Clinic was great. I called and got a next day appointment with no issues. When I arrived I was checked in right away and placed in the exam room. Dr Bourne was great. She examined my sick dog and explained everything she was doing and different options we could try. My dog is doing great and back to her old self. Thank you Dr Bourne. This office was great and I'll be bringing all my animals in when needed.

Shy dog, complicated case? Nervous dog that has anxiety? Dr Boorne is literally a lifesaver. My guy is really learning to love his new home after we adopted him and having a vet that LISTENS AND IS ON YOUR SIDE... is worth it. Money wise? Pricing was fair and in line with other vets, but man... just cant beat a vet with good bedside manner.

We've been to a couple different vets at this point, and Topaz is by far the friendliest. The staff is really caring, and the vets are super knowledgeable. They're not judgmental, which I think is key.
They're pricey, as all vets are, but they also do their best to recommend home remedies and over the counter meds to save you some money.

We've been going to Topaz for a couple years. They've been great with giving their time to explain things, squeezing us in for unexpected emergencies, and the overall wellness of our pets. I think they are a tad bit pricier than some other offices, but they seem to genuinely care about the animals, providing them top care. Prefer to take them here than to save a few bucks.

Amazing vet!! The whole staff is super kind and helpful. It's very evident that they truly care about the well-being of your pets and they'll do everything they can to help them. The staff is also conscious about costs so they'll work with you to choose the best option if finances is an issue. They'll even check up on your pet via email and phone to answer questions, I highly recommend this vet! If I could give them over 5/5 stars I definitely would! (:

All staff were attentive and I felt they really cared about the animals, my pet included. I took my cat here for a check-up because she has experienced vomiting issued. The vet went over what different procedures could be done and told me that the most reasonable thing to do right now was blood work and a diet change. I agreed that blood work seemed important and he went over what to expect and I was not pressured to buy anything we did not feel was absolutely necessary. The vet and vet tech were very attentive to my cat and her visit was very easy going. The vet also made it clear that I could reach out at any time with any questions and he will get back to me as soon as he could. I felt my pet was in excellent care, it has also been about a month since her visit and they really helped solve my cats problem. I will continue to take her and my other pets to this clinic!

I can't say enough nice things about this clinic. I have worked with all three vets at Topaz Veterinary and they are each unbelievably warm and friendly in their own way. I always leave feeling like my concerns were heard and that I'm better informed than when I came in. When my pet had an urgent health issue I was fit into the schedule the same day and felt like Dr. Marzke took her time to thoroughly examine my cat despite the crazy schedule crunch. Front desk staff are always kind and welcoming. Happy I found this great little clinic!

Dr. B is the best vet my dog and I have ever seen. He really cares about his patients and I trust him 100%. Our dog was in the emergency vet a few times within just a couple weeks for several different issues. We had several follow up appointments with Dr B the next day and he reassured us and made us feel very empowered and knowledgeable about what the next steps should be. Unfortunately I moved out of state but I will continue to recommend Topaz to everyone in the Tempe area!

I just walked into this place with my dog who is having obvious labored breathing and the woman who attended me is more concerned with leaving on time, she was quick to refer me to some other place and tell me maybe I should google some other place. I understand they closed in 40 minutes but she couldn't even PRETEND to care about my dog. I don't have the money to take him to most places and I thought this place might be helpful and or compassionate, I couldn't have been more wrong. That was the most heartless front desk staff at a veterinary clinic I've ever experienced. Horrible experience wouldn't recommend this place.

Amazing staff and pet first business model. They don't try and tell you what to do with your animals just tell you what's up and what your options are. they are not afraid to say "hey you might be able to get this cheeper somewhere else, if money is a problem." They care about your pet above even themselves. No better vet around.
