good range of stuff but the care for the alive animals if disgusting. there was a syrian who had a wheel which was about 3 inches when it should be at least 10 inches. i took a video and reported it. there’s no bedding for burrowing and there’s no chews or enrichment at all for any of the animals. it’s disgusting looking at the state they r in. u should be ashamed of ur self and how ur looking after ur animals.

I very rarely go into this store as it has never impressed me. I normally use the other independent pet shop in Ilkeston. This time however, I had no choice as my normal shop did not have any medium locusts in for my Gecko. I went up the stairs to the upper floor. Those steps were filthy and looked as though they hadn't been cleaned for a good couple of days. When I got to the locusts, I found 5 boxes of dead ones. When I eventually found a couple of boxes of live ones I went downstairs to the counter and informed the lady behind it. She had no interest and muttered something about sorting it out. She was more interested in trying to get me to sign up to the store membership card (I didn't.) This store will always be a last resort for me, as at the end of the day my pets have to eat but I will look at all other options first!

I would rate this place like I would pets at home "clueless" have no idea on aquarium/fish keeping, live plants aren't looked after here either, I purchased some and I always check them and clean them before putting in my own tank, the plants were covered in snail eggs, yes I understand that sometimes these eggs can be missed, but these were covered in them, over 50 in total and pretty clear to see.

I went to buy a Quaker parrot on Thursday 22nd April 2021 and the workers was saying they aren’t for sale until Sunday the 25.I went in Sunday morning and they both had been reserved when they told me to go in at 10 o clock Sunday morning they are all liars and would never go there again. Plus I wasn’t aloud to reserve

Well stocked, clean and easy to find what your looking for, staff are friendly and helpful. Wanted to get Princess Puppy Paws a pampering session but the Salon was closed, the lady behind the register gave me the card to book an appointment at the salon. They have their own brand food, treats etc with multi pack deals. I would be happy if this was our local pet store.

A lot cheaper than pets at home. Even the food tjat is apparently exclusive to pets at home. The toys are also a lot cheaper such as the Kong toys. Staff are all very helpful.

Not been here before today. Really liked it. Different choices of products (I was buying for my pet rabbit). Also the pets for sale in there looked like they were well looked after with lots of space and toys to keep them occupied.

Went in to look at the guinea pigs and the lady was so lovely, and you could tell she loves animals, we'd been looking all day for female pigs and no other shop had any and the service at pets at home was shocking, but the lovely girl and this nice man showed us them, very happy with the service

Phoned the store to ask about some puffer fish the lady that took the call said il go have a look then I heard her laughing saying to another member of staff I don't know what she was saying and didn't go look at all then just said no sorry I thought this was very rude and very unprofessional I won't be using this store again or recommending either

We went to the animal handling session, myself and my 6 year old son. It was AMAZING! Such a good range of animals to hold, very informative staff who were able to answer any questions we had and they were great with my son. It's a brilliant pet shop but the only thing I did not like at all there is a black rabbit there it kept getting stuck in the plastic house .the plastic house needed to be a lot bigger. The rabbit was clearly distressed.

When we last visited a few tanks had dead fish in and also signs of ick in one tank. When we looked for someone couldn't find anyone. If I ever visit again I will ensure phone os with me to photograph and send proof to head office.
