Excellent service today - I needed to drop bike for health check and rush to work - staff very helpful said they’d give me a call once check was finished - after the FREE bike health check I was expecting loads of stuff to need replacing £££ but to my surprise just a chain needed replacing very little in price, they’d also tightened brakes and gears. Would recommend this service to everyone Thank you Halfords Putney Road Leicester

Great store and has a wide selection. I bought a bike, sturdy and beautiful designs. The staff are friendly, cooperative and patient. The bike I got is 120£ .... Great value, definitely worth the money. If you're looking for a place to buy a bike, accessories, car accessories etc... Definitely give Halfords a shot, you definitely won't regret it.

Mr Jay..... Bikes section.... Great service.. Good knowledge and excellent customer service, went the extra mile...Thank you very much....definitely recommend him to Halfords as this service would make me use Halfords again if Mr Jay is still there as i wasn't planning to come back to the firm.again .Home delivery bikes needs to be looked at carefully for home assembly bikes and customer safety. The team at this branch pride themselves as a strong independent team, they run things properly and the customer service is very high standard, AS LONG AS you come with RESPECT AND POSITIVITY, you be nasty you wont get that "i feel welcomed" feeling, you will be treated as a standard customer, and thats still good, i personally want that little bit of banter, bonding and remembrance of conversation out of the thousands and thousands of customers that come through the store, so next time i come to the store and i wait in line i get the hands up hello, i see you, and that would make me want to stay in a long queue because of the recognition, ???? team is ???????????????? hands down

First Class Service from the Bike Team (Jay in particular)
I have been using this store for more than 20 years but on 08th March 2021, i took my son's bike in to resolve a braking issue. I was served by Jay who was incredibly helpful, polite, professional and resolved my issue in a prompt manner. He is very knowledgeable about bikes and i was impressed with the speed of the fix. Highly recommend Halford at Putney Road. Jay (bike team) provided outstanding service.

Brilliant service, ordered a bike for my 3 year old son after being let down by poor quality elsewhere. The bike was built in store, and was fully checked with my son on it, so he could just ride away. Going back to get my daughter one soon.

I have a 40 year old Porsche and the Halfords battery has been in it for at least a quarter of that time so I needed a new one, car car would only start with a jumper battery. I know I can get Yuasa batteries cheaper at other places but at Halfords the right onw was in stock and at £15 for fitting and disposal of my old one that was booked. The mechanic had and knew how to use the right tools, being very careful with bolts that hadn't moved for 10 years, was friendly, competent and efficient. It saved me driving home, getting tools out, going to the tip afterwards and I'm an amateur car restorer! Delighted, even if I had to pay a few quid more.

Booked in for a bike service. It was completed in a timely fashion. However upon collection gears didn't change properly. So had to be returned to be fixed again.
Also tried to return a product that I had purchased from Halfords online. They refused to let me return it and told me to return once manager was available.
Extremely poor service and staff were not customer focused. Not all staff wearing masks correctly as well.

I visited Putney Road a few days ago and took advantage of their free 5 point check (battery, windscreen wipers and bulbs). I needed bulbs and windscreen wipers. I was very impressed as the worker explained why I was better off to replace the on opposite side bulb too. Replacement windscreen wiper options were clearly explained and I went for the most expensive for better quality and function. I was very happy young staff who did the replacing they were excellent in all ways. Unfortunately the sales assistant did not call for help when I was unable to access my £10 voucher. Later another worker (could have been a manager) offered to help and quickly sorted it out via his device. If it were not for the sales assistant lacking know how and not getting help immediately I would have definitely given 5 stars. I use the fix and fit service regularly and wil go on doing so and cannot fault it!

Complete waste of time.
If you try to call them you will get a call centre in South Africa. They then cut me off 8 times out of the 12 times I called trying to speak to the store. The other 4 times I was told that the store would not answer so after an hour of being messed about I had got nowhere. This was to ask about the £50 government voucher which is given to pay for repairs on your bike. However what they actually do is charge the £50 for a "silver service" which actually does nothing and for the parts that you do actually need repaired they add on the charges extra. So in my opinion they are defrauding the government out of the £50 and still trying to make money out of you. Appalling behaviour when the whole point of the scheme was to try and help people out for a change.

Had booked my free bike assessment weeks before the government voucher release dates.
Was given a date and time to go into the Putney Rd store Leicester.
Was told free assessment, whether I am successful in obtaining the voucher or not.
On the day of the assessment, have taken time off work, to be called by the store to say they are cancelling my assessment..?
Anyway, I'm guessing as I did not manage to get a gov voucher, I was of no financial benefit to them. Further, Halfords send me an e-reciept.? If it was cancelled, why are they tilling the free assessment.? And then sending me a survey to complete about my experience in store. An e-reciept for no service, visit, or anything.. I wonder if they get paid by government for the free assessments..
Disappointed.. Definitely.. I use Halfords for camping, car spares, bits and bobs for cycling.
As of now , I'll be dealing with the independent shops and dealers.

This place is totally disgusting. I've never had such a bad experience with a shop in all my life. The store is selling display item's for the full price.then when you have a complaint they lye through there teeth and pass the buck.im a disabled man which you can clearly see my disability. I've been left in the dark with this shocking company. Please please read this and take note.im now taking this complaint to Martin Lewis to sort for me.

Picked up a new bike and they couldn't even inflate the tyres correctly. I asked for help with putting an adult bike into the car and was just waved goodbye with no help. The customer service was non existent on this occasion but how often do you spend over a £1000.00 when I got home even had an extra item of a security device which meant i had to go to a store and get it removed, mistakes happen but when it all happens at once the service second to none goes out the window. Its not the first time with this store that there customer service sucks but i would rather travel further and get better service than return to this store.

Bought a car stereo for my new car, I couldn’t get anyone to fit it for me on the day, so I took it home and had a go at doing it myself. Halfway through I realised I didn’t have all the gear to get it working so my partner and I went back to Halfords to get the rest. Whilst there we cheekily asked if there was a chance for the staff to squeeze us in and fit the rest of it for us. Harry was a gem, we waited about 45 mins for him to be free and he got everything we needed and he fitted it perfectly! Got lots of respect for these staff, especially in these stressful times and their knowledge is great.

Bought Garmin DashCam mini from Putney Road store. Store has super helpful staff, making collection and fitting very straight forward.
Fitters are clearly very experienced at what they do, and after agreeing where the dash should be sited, it was quickly fitted and very neat.
All in all, I think they have got a good team working at this store.

Went this place last Saturday, I walked in and waited my turn in the queue.
After ages I managed to get a lads attention to ask him about car stereos( touch screen ones)...
He said that there was only one lad that could help me!!! I waited another 5 mins and asked the lad to go and get him!!
He was in the back doing god knows what, after another 5 mins I went over to the bike section and asked for a manager, instead a lad came out called harry..... I asked him and he said all the other staff can’t be bothered to help!
Eventually I got to ask about radios he took my number as he said it had to be ordered with parts,
The radio was over £600 which I wanted.
He also said he would ring me to tell me etc etc.
It’s now wed night ..... guess what NO. Phone call.
This place is a complete joke, employees lads that clearly don’t know what the hell they are doing.
Guess what I’m going somewhere else to spend my money.
If you want helpful service AVOID. This place.

Installed a dash cam (front and back). Georgia in store was very helpful and answered my questions well which led to me saving money. Installation was tidy and neat with no loose wires.
Unfortunately did not get a walkthrough of the installation or told how to download clips connect bluetooth etc which would have been ideal.
Met other advisors who were not as helpful, so depends who is working on the day.
