Very good food. As usual, they catered well with gluten free options for my wife who is coeliac. Clear menu and food was labeled with a gluten free flag so no confusion. Staff were also very friendly

Came in last week with my partner as we had a craving for steak. We both had the fillet with garlic butter and it was incredible. Starters and dessert were also excellent.

We chose this venue to celebrate our Xmas shop party with our dedicated volunteers. It was great upon entering to be shown to the small room on the left, which felt cosy and intimate. I did feel it was, a shame the table had no Xmas decorations. We selected our food with a few of us choosing from the early bird menu as most wanted to keep the cost down. The waitress was smiley, helpful & very efficient taking our orders. The food arrived, in good time, was hot, nicely presented & all orders were correct. The atmosphere was great & staff left us to celebrate our festive occasion. The only comment I would make was when the bill arrived and the volunteers naturally wanted to pay what they had personally had, the waitress agreed this would be simple to do, but it ended becoming rather complicated & she became flustered & confused. The manager was called who quickly tried to rectify the situation, but there still seemed confusion on the service charge, resulting in me being advised £90 was still outstanding, despite us all having paid & included service. It was eventually sorted but I did feel put a damper on the experience of Cote. Maybe in future for larger parties they could make this process a little simpler. All in all an enjoyable experience to start the festive season

Food was awful. ‘Vegetarian sausages’ were in fact Croquettes, nothing sausage-like about them whatsoever. Inedible lumps of deep fried mush.
Service was also incredibly slow.
And no set lunchtime menu on Saturday, unlike every other branch I’ve been to before.

Excellent selection of French bistro style dishes from steak frites to sea bass.
The creme caramel dessert is the best I have ever tasted.
Good selection of wines too starting at around £17.
Attentive staff will look after you.

A very new addition to Lewes. Very attractive from the outside and equally inside. Very helpful and friendly staff. Meal was great, but not the cheapest. Plenty of options for wine. Would highly recommend for a special occasion, or for a better class of dinning experience.

Cote has been in Lewes for getting for two years and never fails to disappoint. The menu, essentially French in character, manages to strike the right balance of changing enough to keep things interesting on multiple visits whilst retaining a good number of staple favourites. The quality of The food itself is generally excellent with very few disappointments. This coupled with delightful staff and a decent interior where you can actually hear yourself speak makes this a regular destination. There are two early evening weekday set menus which are good value and a separate one for weekends. Good choice of wine by the glass
