My sister owned a couple of bookcases from Mark and I’ve had it on my list to own some in the future and fortunately that time has come!
What can I say about Mark? He’s honest, reliable, communicative, passionate, friendly and his work is just stunning. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our order, entertaining my requests for photos of different shelves stood next to each other so I can visualise.
The delivery was incredibly smooth and meeting Mark gave me even more confidence in his product.
We can’t help but smile when we look at the bookcases, friends and family are wowed!

I have now purchased a total of 5 shelving units from Mark. The first two were standard stock models and we were so delighted with them that we put in an order for 3 bespoke units. Mark is responsive, helpful and goes to great efforts to ensure you are happy with these shelves. They are made from reclaimed wood and come with a wax finish that will ensure they work in all environments from a warehouse apartment to a period property. The finish is slightly rustic (but not overly so) and the build quality such that I will hide in one of the shelf units in the event of an earthquake. I sense that these shelves will outlast me. Very happy. Great value for the quality and overall end product. Mark was ultra cautious when we were getting into the details of the bespoke units as he didn't want to make any mistakes - you are in safe hands.

What a fabulous experience it was to deal with Mark from GPlanera! Right from the get-go he was super professional, with his product knowledge far surpassing that of most retro dealers out there. Gplanera is also priced right, particularly if you consider what you would pay for a contemporary piece of furniture of the same quality. And on top of all of that, Mark's care when packing our furniture was outstanding. As someone who used to buy and sell retro furniture myself, I can say with confidence that Gplanera is a step above what the market generally offers. I bought a Gplan Dressing table / Desk and couldn't be happier with it. It was in excellent condition and Mark was very accommodating before I bought it., letting me spend time inspecting it and measuring it. He delivered it with such care and gave me instructions & materials on how to care for it. He also dismantled the mirrors from it as I wanted to use it as a desk and was very thorough in this too. It looks wonderful! Will now look to gplanera for future furniture.Thanks!

We found Mark and Gplanera through a Google search, as we are in the process of clearing the family home and needed to sell the G-Plan and Ercol furniture. After an initial contact, which was answered very quickly, we sent photos to Mark and a price was agreed. However what was more important to us was that the furniture would be valued by a new owner as it had been treasured over the years. Mark understood this aspect and assured us that he would treat it with care and respect. We arranged a day for collection (also very quick), he updated us on his arrival time - and his attention to detail was amazing. I was emotional about the furniture leaving, but even more so about the caring way he removed it from the house and loaded it for transport. It left our premises so encased in duvets it would not have moved on the journey to Hove. This man loves furniture! I'm so pleased we found him..

So, I contacted Mark because I needed a book case on the large side. Specifically 8’ tall, 3.5’ wide, and 1.5’ deep.
So, it arrived today and it is a thing of beauty. Solid, huge, and full of character.
The team have exceeded my expectations in every regard. At every stage we were in contact, nailing down the details. I had absolute clarity as to what was being made and, when it arrived, I was suitably impressed.
Mark and the team didn’t try and inflate the job. Quite the opposite. They clearly love what they do and they do it well.
Just remember, these are built and then shipped in one piece. Make sure you have room to actually get it in the house.

So glad we found Gplanera. Mark instilled confidence from the start, insisted i see any tiny blemish on the Ercol sideboard before confirming purchase, then kept me informed at all times through to delivery. Ten stars from me if I could!!! I am SO THRILLED with my 2 zig zag pigeon bookcases!! They are beautifully made and look fabulous in my kitchen housing my vast collection of cookery books. I dealt with Mark directly, no problems whatsoever. He explained the process to me and everything went as he said it would. We used his courier Bruce for delivery, and again we were in direct contact with him and it went like clock work. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely company and I would definitely use again ( I just need to buy more books!) Good old fashioned service!!

We love our bespoke pigeon holes - the size is great for a mix of CDs, books and toys. This is the second time we've ordered, although a few years between orders, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend ordering from Mark. It was easy to order, we had good communication throughout, the pigeon holes are excellent quality (lovely to look at, a good size and very sturdy) and we had a friendly delivery driver.

Beautiful bookcases, we are delighted with them. They are well-made and solid, in deep, warm coloured wood, and look lovely, as well as being extremely practical, with room for large books on the bottom. I wasn't able to go and see them beforehand so bought them after seeing the photos online, but I like them even more than I expected. Communication was excellent and delivery fast and reasonably priced, exactly when we were told it would be. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend gplanera.

'Welcome book lovers you are among friends here.' Mark's bookcases are a wonderful find. The quality and service have been faultless and I cannot recommend either Mark or his bookcases highly enough. To find someone who truly understands what books really require is precious. The zigzag design makes all the difference and I no longer have shelves sagging under the weight. These are real heirlooms in the making. They are well worth every penny and if any reassurance is required with regards to upfront payment, then please rest easy. Mark is generous with his time and I even had my cases delivered to Exeter, exactly when promised. At last I have my own small slice of the Bodleian and it gives me enormous joy. There are never too many books, just not enough shelving and I have finally found the solution to that!

I can highly recommend Mark at Gplanera in Brighton, he is an extremely helpful, friendly and professional person. We have bought a table top that Mark made from solid reclaimed wood and are incredibly happy with it as it's really solid and looks great.We have also bought a Danish style teak 1960s' Hi Fi cabinet which was just as described and again are very pleased with it.

Mark makes custom pigeon hole libraries from reclaimed wood. I had ordered a set for mine. He had been amazingly helpful in the process. Make sure we received them timely. And the result looks absolutely amazing. Just very beautiful pieces and they look like they will survive forever!

I felt no doubt at all about handing three furniture items to Mark for him to sell for me. Each required repair or improvement that only an expert could provide. Quite a few weeks went by for all these items to be sold but, again, no doubts about a satisfactory outcome and, indeed, each item was successfully sold and the money paid fairly and promptly. If you choose to make a similar arrangement you will be in safe and reliable hands.

We purchased 3 of the pigeon hole bookshelves to fill a wall of our lounge and have been absolutely delighted with the result. The quality of the individual shelf units adds so much character and detail to the room.
