I have been waiting for over an hour on the phone to Marston. Just to get through to one person on customer service to be able to sort this issue out. Have been issued a wrongful enforcement notice when the case is still at court and now they can’t even be bothered to answer their calls. This is my fourth time trying to get into contact with them. Rubbish service and poor customer service.

Turned up to my brothers house, bullying and intimidating vulnerable people, based on out-dated client information. I owned the vehicle, which received a toll charge. Information was sent to an old address, which wasn't accessible due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. Therefore, there was no prior knowledge of the charge until they showed up at my brothers door. Their agent was stood around, with no mask on, whilst in close proximity to elderly people! As soon as i learnt of this charge, i paid the toll charge immediately! I paid via their website and £145 was deducted from my account, with authorisation proof confirmed by Santander. They downright refused to accept payment, claiming that it hadn't been received, when it clearly had. Attempted to extort further money from us, to the sum of £380. Santander have provided me with authorisation codes and correspondence, providing the charge was paid when it was at £145 and never debited by Marston Group, who attempted to deny that it was processed. Reported all the above concerns to Halton Borough Council, their local environmental health agency, Mersey Flow and I will be filling a lawsuit for compensation for the distress caused by their negligence, during a time of crisis. Further, will be putting in information requests to obtain copies of their accounts in order to prove they withheld knowledge of the payment in an attempt to extort further. Absolutely disgusting, inhumane people.

This company's enforcement officers break vulnerability laws and then make you sit on hold for hours when you wish to make a complaint. Absolutely despicable levels of customer service and their officers need psych assessment on recruitment to assess for high levels of dark triad traits.

Be careful the baliffs that come out are vile and bullys. I had a Mr Davies turn up at my door re a council tax debt. Banging on the front door and with the worlds biggest chip on his shoulder. I explained that I could not pay and wanted to set up a payment plan. He said either pay now or Ill be back tonight to take your belongings. Nothing I could do so waited for them to come back but nothing then get a letter from head office in the post to set up a payment plan which I have now done. They obviously play the numbers game. Councils should not work with this company. People like this should not work in this environment. I am contacting the company to make a complaint but Im sure I wont get anywhere.

Been told for a 423 quid debt they are going to be removing items from my ex partners house, i dont even live there!! When I called they didn't even bother to ask for my new address, tried to sort things out as haven't been working by asking for a payments plan, point blank refused to offer anything. This phone call has set off my depression and left me feeling suicidal. Will be taking this further, when asked if i could speak to the person above the lady taking the call i was told they were the only person I could speak too. Global pandemic and these people can't even show a human side and a bit of understanding. When you call the office instead of the mobile number they cut you off or don't answer either.

I got a fine for driving in the congestion zone area and it was sent to an old address I had no idea of this fine, they turned up to my mum's house demanding money telling she had to pay otherwise they will come back and take her stuff, I don't live there either, I spoke to the bloke in charge he told me it had to be paid immediately and there was no point in contacting tfl, I said I was unemployed and couldn't pay till end of month, anyway I contacted tfl they told me to do an out of time form which I did, during that time the bloke dealing with me left the company so they sent another so called officer round, I explained to her my situation and she was cool with it, then I received my paperwork back because I made a mistake on it I have been trying to contact her for a few days, so then I phoned the head office, they put me through to her, she was talking to me while on the toilet telling me she never spoken to me about this and I had to pay it all at once and that I'm a liar and haven't tried calling her and she hung up on me. These people are scum of the earth up there with the worst type of criminals thieving from normal people on a daily basis and people that work for them should be ashamed of themselves.

I am a single lady, living alone. I am scared out of my mind. I received first correspondence this morning and have not left my flat since due to the threatening nature of the open letter. I had no mention of any fine before today. When I called them to try to determine whether this was a scam (as I have heard nothing until this morning demanding 616£ immediately). They threatened to knock my door down, take my belongings and take my car (which is worth £12,500). I am really scared for my safety more than anything. I have spoken to citizens advice and the non-emergency police line but it sounds like this company take the law into their own hands. Intimidating single women in their own home is shocking and quite frankly disgusting.

Absolutely outrageous customer service! Terry the enforcement officer was polite. However I tried to solve the issue when I received my first letter from marstons holdings ltd. which I waited a combined 45 minutes on the phone just to be cut off. When I spoke with them again after the agent visited they basically said it’s your problem that I didn’t call more to resolve the issue. Even after my partner having a miscarriage. All they stated was I should of tried more often to call. Once again they have your money and don’t care on your personal issue because all they expect is you to respond to them at the very first second because life doesn’t have more to it!

Marston Holdings arrived at my home during this pandemic out of the blue with no correspondence whatsoever. Apparently they was looking for my wife due to an unpaid parking fine that she had forgotten about in 2018! fair enough we accept that she has a fine but what I do not accept is that they did not follow the regulations and send out a Notice of enforcement as is legally required and has so far given me any proof of doing so! without sending any form of written correspondence they are legally not aloud to go adding a further £75 and then £235 on to her extremely small parking fine, then use strong arm tactics to extort this money from my frightened wife by threatening to clamp MY CAR that I PAY FOR! and she uses to do her job as a social worker. I am not letting this go and I don't care if it cost me a fortune to fight it, I am taking this matter to the local authorities as they are just a bunch of scammers operating illegally hoping that people don't have to brains to look up the law and stand up to the extortionate criminals they are.

So rude, they knew post was delayed over Christmas and lockdown and sent an enforcement officer round (who discussed it with my 12 year olds) when hadn’t even received first letter. Nightmare to get on the phone and when you do they have no interest. Don’t know how any of them sleep at night

Dreadful company to deal with, made even more dreadful during a pandemic. FYI anyone who needs to know this; they are not legally allowed to enter your premises during an ongoing global pandemic, you have more time than you think to work things out, I know so many are struggling right now, do not be bullied.

Currently been on the phone to them for 3 and half hours. Lost my job, can't afford the payment this month. Their suggestion is for me to make a smaller payment and up my payments each month which are already unaffordable. Asked for one month leeway as I start my new job in two days and have no income coming in at the moment. This isn't good enough and they told me if I missed this payment then I would incur further charges and a bailiff at my door. So if you're having financial difficulty, it seems they take full advantage of this.

Awful honestly, not at fault for two tickets. They cleared one based on info I provided but came to me on a later date saying I still have a ticket. Thus its only logical to send the exact info they required and used the first time. To then hear back from them saying it isn't good enough. Currently out of work and they are not willing to take that into account. During these un-presidented times it's silly to be so demanding for something I am not at fault for. Staff are actually awful and rude. They honestly would get better responses if they had better people skills. Awful people honestly

Showed up during lockdown without a mask, my girlfriend answered the door to a man looking for someone who didn’t live here, when she tried shutting the door to come and get me from the back of the house the guy tried shoving his way into the house (probably thought he could seeing as she’s 5’3) but she managed to close and lock it, when I came to the window to see what was going on after being told by her someone was trying to break in he said to open the door or he’ll kick it in! I asked what he was here for and he said for some fine nothing to do anyone at the property (probably past tenant) I told him he doesn’t live here and I’d call the police if he touches the door, after that he tried doing his bit about needing to confirm my tenancy or something and acting like he was police I said goodbye and closed the window and he left a few minutes later. I’m not easily shaken up but I had my baby in the front room napping and him threatening to force entry was distressing and a pretty horrible thing to have randomly happening to you for no reason in normal times let alone during a pandemic. absolute scumbags and a baseball bat will greet the next one that comes knocking

Showed up on Monday, after not having received any warning or letter previously which suggested they would show up. And failed to produce any document, physical or digital to prove that their writ was High Court ordered. In the process of their visit, they assaulted my mother twice, once in order to unlawfully apply a clamp to a vehicle they believed to be hers, in which the police aided in, and to steal an iPad belonging to myself. They assaulted my mother once more when my mother went to retrieve her iPad. They eventually gave the iPad back, tacitly admitting that it was unlawful for them to have taken it. These "enforcement agents" have no more right to be on your property than the neighbor's cat. Do not comply with these agents. Do not let them into your property under any circumstances. They are weakly legitimised criminals. Thugs.

The previous tenant of our house had ended up in debt and after moving in we had these people turning up at our house every other day. We have sent them our tenancy agreement three times now and they are still turning up, and our landlord has spoke to them too, i have done countless hour holds to them to try and resolve it and nothing seems to be done. When calling and explaining the situation they were incredibly rude and said that they will be taking all our possessions, even though we aren't the person that they're looking for.

Wish I can give them a zero. Their agent mr. M. Was very rude. I tried to tell him that the person he is after does not stay here. All he wanted was to get into my property even in this lockdown. He did not even ask to see my I.d. to prove that I am telling the truth. He even had the guts to raise his voice at me and shouting at me. Needs firing asp.

Last week I received a ominous letter from Marston holdings stating that I owed £278 as I made an illegal turning manoeuvre in Brent London 2 years ago in 2018. Not knowing if the letter was a scam or not I emailed Brent council and they responded stating that it was a charge and that it had been passed on a debt collector. Somewhat reluctantly I went to pay the fine however they said I now owe £513! Because supposedly a bailiff had visited my previous address. In order not to affect my credit score I paid the fine however I will be seeking evidence of letters posted by both the council and Marston Holdings. Companies like this should not be able to operate and should be banned from this type of work. They should be ashamed when they read the Google reviews alone.

I'm pregnant and have a young child in the house these people never visited or sent a letter just turned up one day posted a goods recovery letter and demanded I pay the full amount of £900 I asked if I could set up a payment plan and they point blank refused, tried breaking into my home whilst I was having a panic attack. Had to borrow money off different people. All this was for council tax from 2 years ago. The stress this caused could have seriously harmed by baby these people are nothing but criminals AND I STILL DONT HAVE THE RECIEPT LETTER I WAS PROMISED????????? And just to add this was in the middle of a lockdown no mask no nothing and im expecting a baby. DISGUSTING PEOPLE! ILL BE LOOKONG AT LEGAL ACTION!

Illegal company. If they turn up at the door call 999. Only HIGH COURT bailiffs actually have the rights or licensing to be come to your property. If anyone from Marston turns up do NOT let them in. It is trespassing if they turn up at your door as they have NO RIGHTS! they just discriminated and abused a young woman and her 3 children with mental health issues. She called 999 and the guy literally ran off her drive in fear.

I recorded a phone call today in which I was called names and offered outside, then he exclaimed he was a bailiff after I informed him that I was recording the call. Mr M Dwyer you are not a bailiff you are a thug for hire if you threaten me or my friends again I will not only press charges but I will make sure the only side of the law you will be on is behind bars! These people are debt collectors not bailiffs so don’t worry just close the door and record everything! The most important thing to know here is that a debt collector doesn’t have any special legal powers to collect a debt, whereas a bailiff does. What's a debt collector? A debt collector works on behalf of a creditor or debt collection agency. They can also be called a doorstep collector or a field agent. Sometimes a creditor letter will mention having a debt collector visit your home. But the likelihood of this happening is actually quite small. This could be because collection agents can’t actually take anything from your property like a bailiff can. The most they can do is ask you to make a payment arrangement on the debt. The key word here is ask, not force. What's a bailiff? Nowadays bailiffs are officially called enforcement agents. However, many of us still refer to them as bailiffs. A bailiff or enforcement agent has legal powers to collect a debt. Some bailiffs work on behalf of private companies, some are self-employed and some work for the council. Bailiffs collect things such as County Court judgments (CCJs), council tax arrears, parking fines, and child maintenance arrears. Bailiffs have a legal right to visit your property, and to remove and sell your goods to pay off a debt. These powers mean that these kinds of debts are more of a priority to stay on top of than other debts.

Absolutely useless company. Hired them as debt collectors and i would have been better sending my granny round instead. I gave them nearly 2 years to collect £3000. I gave them addresses and vehicles and nothing. i asked DCBI (Can't pay we'll take it away on television) 8 weeks later they collected my money in full. Absolutely a fantastic company and did not cost a penny. DCBI 5 STAR

I regularly deal with debt collection agencies (fortunately, in a professional capacity); however, I was today made privy to a shocking exchange between an enforcement agent from this company & an acquaintance of mine. As a company whose code of conduct (via TCOG) states "Enforcement agents must carry out their duties in a professional, calm and dignified manner. They must dress and speak appropriately and act with discretion and fairness", I was absolutely horrified to see an alleged professional, with "12 years of experience" reply "hahahaha" to a query from somebody financially struggling during this pandemic. Fortunately, this conversation occurred via text, so they have written evidence of, -not only this employees appalling & embarrassing conduct but - a breach of FCA Rule CONC 7.3.10 (A firm must not pressurise a customer to pay a debt within an unreasonably short period of time) & guidance CONC 7.3.6 (Where a customer is in default or in arrears difficulties, a firm should allow the customer reasonable time and opportunity to repay the debt) & more. Based on the worrying content of this exchange, I sought clarification from the FCA, citizens advice & The Taking control of goods" regulations & found they were in breach of many of the rules and guidelines set out. I have encouraged my acquaintance to raise a complaint & to follow the escalation process to the Ombudsman if necessary, which they are doing. In 10 years of liaising with enforcement agencies to assist with retrieving /resolving debt, I have never seen an interaction as unprofessional as I have witnessed from an apparent long serving employee of this company. To the extent I had to ask my acquaintance to confirm it wasn't a fraudulent correspondence. I decided to write this review in case there is any one else out there going through financial difficulty who are falling victim to this unnecessarily nasty behaviour: It is not normal, nor acceptable, for an enforcement officer to speak to you in a derogatory manner & if this happens to you, I would urge you to complain (even if they are rightfully collecting the debt, they should be interacting with you in a polite, informative professional manner). I hope, once the internal investigation is complete, the situation is rectified swiftly & staff are retrained or reprimanded appropriately Thank you **Update** upon further investigation the enforcement officer is called Ben Bishop & has a long history of complaints throughout various different companies who have had the misfortune of hiring him: stay vigilant.
