Mind-blowing neo-Gothic Victorian mansion, home of William Waldorf Astor. The austere facade hides a beautiful and opulent interior with wood panelling and intricate carving, reflecting Astor’s passion for history, literature and all arts. Absolutely outstanding. Rarely opens its doors so watch out for exhibitions and go see this gem.

What a wonderful, hidden gem. Only open to the public when an exhibition is on, and only displays art that publicly owned. Would thoroughly recommend the current show, Sussex Modernism, on until April.
