I love this building. From the design to the events they hold. It is beautiful. From the moment you walk in you're greeted by friendly security guards. To the show you feel at ease there. It's a great community space.

What a wonderful place, full of history and one of the oldest structures in New york city perhaps in the United States. I loved TIFFANY'S designs and Some of his finest pieces of Art are located in this Armory. This is a National Historic landmark and alternative arts space .in the actuality looks more like a museum with pictures , furniture and decorations from it's brilliant past ., this old building used to store provisions for the military, a library, dining room and staff offices for ten regimental companies. In the 1900 Architects and interior designers of the American Aesthetic Movement were commissioned to furnish the rooms and company quarters. The library is known as the Silver Room or "Trophy Room" and was designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany who worked with architect Stanford White as a consultant on the project. The masterpiece of the armory building is the Veterans Room, also known as the Tiffany Room, with hand carved wood panelling and coffered ceiling in the Viking Revival style. Other significant craftsmen with work in the building..

Amazingly beautiful space! So massive, and a real walk back in time to when life in NYC was very different! Either go to see a performance in the former drill hall, or take a tour of the place, and you will be amazed at the craftsmanship and detail work.

What a gorgeous space with a storied past and caring staff. I went for David Byrne's Social Distant Dance Club experience (in its experimental phase) and couldn't have been more confident in the handling of virus protocols and the safety of the participants. I can't wait to go back.

I love the history and Energy of this Magnificent Building. The graciousness of staff is present. Good Purpose is illuminated. A Way Forward to a Better World of Equality with Care and Compassion is Practiced! I Especially Appreciate their partnership with National Black Theatre and other arts organizations in the centennial celebration of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, 100 Years l 100 Women Iniative.

What a great space for entertainment. The interior is spectacular. The high ceilings, the open space, the beautiful wooden walls and staircase are a wonderful sight. The historical painting on the walls are stunning. I had a great time at an event here. I would definitely visit again.

A beautiful building inside and out with a great deal of history. Unfortunately the 4th floor is used as a women's shelter. The homeless hang out outside, smoking and drinking. It's a shame

Last week I returned for a walk along Park Avenue. It was a nice sunny day and I walked around the area in the 90s Saturday there was a photo shoot on 94 street and Park Ave and I took a few minutes to capture the action.

Went to a very cool show here for Redbull. The space is an old Military marching ground so the entrance to the venue reminds me of an old part of West Point military institute. It almost felt like entering their mess hall. Magical. If you have an opportunity to go to a music show here, go as you will not regret it.

Great concert hall who's proportions are a bit oversized, might dwarf the performers but with the right speakers, the sound can fill the entire cavernous space.

Historic structure in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan. Inside the massive, high-ceilinged Drill Hall, I have seen some of the most unique performances ever. Check out their website and see if anything incites interest.

This a major cultural institution in NY which due to its enormous space can stage very space demanding performances. Armory known to bring plays and performances from around the world and while each particular piece may be hit or miss ( in the eyes of the beholder) it never lacks of grand scale. The year 2020 promises a lot of first class performances so get your tickets in advance. Note the book office does not do advanced sales in at least 90 minutes prior to the day's performance, just plan for that if you want to avoid web or phone booking fees.

I’ve been here twice and both times were for extraordinary concerts from unique artists. The first time was ANOHNI and this time for FKA twigs. The venue is spacious and roomy for a standing, general admission show. They don’t overbook the venue like some other promoters do, so there’s always enough space in the crowd and you can see the stage from anywhere on the floor. The sound is great and the staff is always warm and welcoming.

Amazing venue for many great art shows. The sense of opulence and tradition is palpable. Facilities are generally very clean and vendors are top notch in my experience.

Big beautiful building the size of a city block. The front gates are wrought iron and the doors are massive with iron trim. The lobby has two staircases and the decorative wood trim throughout this area is gorgeous.

I took my well-traveled daughter to see the Judgement Day play at the Armory. We arrived early and were both very impressed with the history, rooms, decorations and how well run is this landmark. Highly recommended to all New Yorkers and shame on me it took me 35 years to get there!

A hidden jewel of New york. The building itself is a work of art. Rooms are beautifully decorated in 19th century style and still has the glamour of its heydays.

It was so blue in there. You might even say ultramarine. Cyan and cobalt filled my soul-being. I forgot magenta. She was lost in cerulean seas. Even the fromage était bleu. I think my green and red light cones deactivated. Optometrists hate me now.

Beautiful 19th century gem. Its 55,000 sq.ft. assembly room boasts an 80 foot ceiling allowing for extraordinary theatrical productions! PLUS, amazing art, original details, walk-in sized fireplaces, tiffany glass work and much more. A uniquely exquisite space.

Just saw Lehman Trilogy. An amazing piece of theater but Armory, as beautiful as it is, is too big a venue for the show. I love going to see the adventurous work they import and I will keep going back but those ticket prices are ridiculous. Come on! Will this just host theater for the elite who can afford it or those of us who break open our piggy banks?

The place is huge! Really unique venue, though I wish the audience area was a little better organized/staged as the further back gets near impossible to see the stage unless you're 6' plus.

Park Avenue Armory is one of the most interesting event venues and art space in New York City. It is a space that surprises you the moment you step inside as it has such a wonderful and rich history, yet is so versatile that it transforms into so many different types of spaces. I have been here for the Ai Wei Wei and Herzog de Meuron exhibition on survellience, and also Nick Caves’ Thing and both experiences were so different! Fashion events held here are transformative. A must visit space to understand New York’s incredible art culture.

Saw The Lehman Trilogy at the Park Avenue Armory. Almost 1,000 seats. Have to climb up an almost bleacher to get to our seats, but a wonderful production. Over 3 hours, with primarily 3 actors portraying all characters. Try to get a ticket if you can.

What first intrigued me was the Art portraits of the Army. I respect, and am honored to be a part of a Country, and city like New York, that prides itself in keeping me safe! Look forward to visiting again. ????????????????

Great space for live entertainment - music, theatre - and even movies. Beautiful old building with ornate corridors and military theamed decorations. There is an after-hours lounge after most shows that serve drinks - wine, beer, and a few basic cocktails - and light snacks in a beautiful room down one of the first floor corridors. We saw "The damned" here, which was a very experimental staging that used the space well.

It's a great venue for arts events, but the staff working the night I attended, though very pleasant, were not very well informed. I asked basic questions that no one could answer, there was no alacrity or even feigned effort to find answers. Just politeness. I enjoyed my show and the bartenders but that was it.

This is so New York. A while back, the Armory started to promote/host cultural events. It is a unique and wonderful venue! Go early to visit the site. There are some breathtaking architectural details and interior design to see. Check it out on Google!

Always pulls together an interesting and well done season. I've seen many productions here that were head and shoulders above what's been on the Broadway stages. I often wish more of these shows were captured on film and streamed to a wider audience. They do great art that needs to be seen.
