After yesterday's bitter cold weather I needed a good fleece layer. Delighted to find they could do click and collect, a quick phone call and it was sorted. Excellent friendly helpful staff and totally safe,Covid aware collection from their front door.

Just bought my son his first penknife for here. Feel like "Dad achievement unlocked". He chose a small Victorinox, similar to the one I had at his age. Hopefully he'll look after it and still have it when it's his turn to do the same for his kids. And I hope Gilders will still be trading when that happens, and the tradition continues.

I needed a new fly reel, I got what I wanted, great value, the fly fishing flies on offer were really good and a great mixture to choose from.
I know I should tie my own, perhaps when I'm older, lol, it's all about fly fishing at the moment...

Brilliant shop! Great to see a traditional Country store selling everything from fishing to shooting, very friendly helpful staff, I purchased a Beretta Shotgun from Dan, it was very well priced and he couldn’t do enough! Will be going back soon!

I grew up with Guilders of Northampton, have spent thousands of pounds on course,pike,carp gear, they have seen 3 generations of my family shop with them.
Never before when i have asked to setup a rod in order to see if i liked the feel and weight have i been made to feel its become to much to ask, i asked if i could sit a reel on it for balance and was met with immediate resistance, asked if i could test the the feel of the rod under load (test curve) "I'm sorry we don't allow that".
my Answer was quite simple " if i can't feel it, can't test it,and cant be made to feel like I'm worth the effort, I'll be the last of our generations shopping with them. In a modern world I may as well buy from the internet save the pennies and send it back if i don't like it.
Congratulations Guilders on a service lost, I know a couple of guys that would be turning where they lay.
