I am super happy with my newest car purchase, from Gates Of St.Albans. Tom Patton was brilliant from the moment I stepped on to the forecourt. He was friendly, helpful, patient and he went out of his way to make sure I was happy. I was really impressed that he managed to work wonders on making the exhaust look like new, even though he was unsure it was salvageable. Thank you so much Tom for everything. I love my new car????

I Purchased my car from here and paid 14k upfront, the alloys were curbed and needed repair, I was told the alloys would be completely repainted but this wasn’t the case instead there on site smart repair guy did a Poor job on the wheels and just blew on some paint over the edges I immediately made it clear I wasn’t happy with the wheels and was told that they would be re-done, 12 months later and here I am writing my review, I have tried contacting gates of St Albans regarding this issue, I have sent emails to the branch these have been forwarded to management by Neil since then I have made numerous phone calls over the past 12 months to try and get the matter resolved and have always been told the manager is busy and he will call you back I have been constantly having to put up with this very poor and unhelpful customer service for 12 months and I would like to think that this is not acceptable behaviour in a place such as Gates Ford, as a customer I feel completely let down by this dealership upon purchasing the car I had incredible customer service from Neil Who was very helpful and supportive throughout but unfortunately as soon as they had my money that’s where the great customer service stopped. I have tried to resolve this through the branch on many occasions and found that they haven’t resolved the matter and have simply chosen to just ignore me as I have had absolutely no reply to my calls or emails. I have attached pictures of my alloys and the permanent staining to the alloys that I have to put up with due to the poor smart repair which was carried out, I was hoping to resolve this Matter without legal action but with over 12 months of chasing the branch what option do I have..... I had previously left 1 star review but I have updated to 3 stars because immediately after leaving this review I was contacted by Guilford Tulloch the Aftersales Manager who dealt with this instantly and had my wheels completely repaired within a week which I believe is outstanding considering all that I have previously stated. I am very thankful and the wheels look amazing, I just wish that I would have left a review sooner to get all this resolved many thanks to Guilford Tulloch you were very professional

These guys are the epitome of awesome customer service. I had visited another ford approved garage before coming here, who kept my car for 2 days and didn't do a thing so was setting myself up for disappointment. But these guys were awesome, Jo in the bookings team was super friendly and the guys at the service centre were super friendly too. Dropped the car in the morning and it as ready a few hours later, they also ordered a part for me and will let me know when it arrives. Very impressed with their service, would definitely go back even though I'd have to drive for over an hour to get there.

Pani took me through my purchase from start to finish. He was approachable and friendly and not pushy at all like car sales staff I've dealt with previously. Nothing was too much trouble and that was maintained with after sale care, replacing the car key battery after a week of having the car. I'd happily recommend to friends and family

Recently was sold a car with the assistance of Liam Wardle one of the salesman. He has exactly the right attitude - not overpushy but knew enough about each model to meet my needs - asked lots of good questions! My advice if you are buying a car is to ask for Liam Wardle every time!

Unfortunately the after sales experience is absolutely rubbish, paid 24k for the car with 4K on the clock 1 k later the car goes wrong and after many phone calls ended up taking into my local dealer to fix. 2.5 weeks later I get the car back!!! Happy to sell you a car, but didn’t even get a courtesy phone call when the car went wrong

Having bought a Ford with a full dealer service history I thought I’d fork out the extra to have it serviced by quality professionals at Ford. I took the van in for service and received a call mid-way through the day informing me of what needed doing. I was told my brake pads were dangerously worn out, 'metal to metal' was the phrase used, and this seemed odd as the sensor had not indicated such. I suggested this to the customer service agent and was informed the sensor is only on one pad and so they may have worn unevenly. I suggested this in itself may be an issue and was told it was not. (Seems like a sticky piston if so) I was also told the rear centre brake light was faulty and needed investigating at a minimum charge of £125 plus any required parts. It seemed to me that if the brake pads were wearing unevenly then one of the pistons was seized and this should be addressed instead of just sticking in new pads. So I opted to collect the van and have the work completed else ware. The brake pads were in fact fine, not worn down to the sensors at all. I was simply lied to. The rear brake light was in fact of normal filament style and a new bulb at 69p solved the issue. I was left dumbstruck that the official ford dealer could be so disingenuous. It is very hard to see how these could have been accidental. When I tried to talk to the customer service agent I was met with a very dismissive attitude. It was only when they had the cheek to ask me to come in for another service that I felt obliged to hopefully stop others getting this level of service and write this review. The scary bit is that if I didn't question them I would have just handed over a considerably larger amount of money and been none the wiser, never realising that I’d been conned. I am unimpressed at the customer service at Gates StAlbans. I wish I'd read more reviews before going here. I believe my issues weren't listened to/taken seriously, rude is how I'd sum up the service. I have never felt compelled to write a negative review nor had an issue with another garage. If I could leave 0 stars I would have. I ended up finding a much better local garage so unhappy with Gates. Won't make the mistake of using them again. I was expecting better from a Ford garage.

Upon making an initial enquiry online I had the absolute pleasure of Pani responding. Not having changed my car for 15 years he made the experience hassle free with his easy approach and professionalism, keeping me updated with regular messages and photos thus ensuring everything was in place to meet the agreed handover time frame. Sometimes Sales people can come across as pushy and overbearing but not so with Pani who was easy to talk to and went above and beyond to ensure all my requests were met with my new vehicle. Although very sad to leave Monty behind, I am extremely happy with Lt. Herby and looking forward to going on some new journeys together. Made an appointment to David in Sales to see a Ford s max. I waited and waited as David's previous appointment overran. In the end, I didn't get to meet him or see the car. I called to try and rearrange another appointment, but never received a call back. I won't be wasting my time here. Hartwell Ford in Hemel Hempstead were more than happy to take my business. You're customer service is dreadful and you should not be leaving customers waiting like this.

Travelled all the way from Glasgow to pick up my Ford Galaxy. I paid the asking price in full 1 WEEK BEFORE as the salesperson wanted to close his sale. Got there I noticed a small crack on the windscreen and bumper damage. There repair guy for windscreen not available and I live in Glasgow I had no choice to drive it back up. The attitude of staff appalling and a couple of staff members said could sell that car twice over! ( not a good thing to say to a customer) They offered £85 and a tank of fuel. The window is costing me £50 to repair and the bumper is costing me £250 + VAT The reason I bought from GATES was it was a ford dealer. Unprofessional in my option and the salesperson David (a nice guy) but really needs to check his cars. I am very stressed and contemplating taking legal advice. WILL NOT BUY AGAIN FROM GATES!

Fantastic customer service. We drove past 140 miles to buy our daughter's first car and couldn't be more happy with the decision. The Sales assistant, Liam, was brilliant, trustworthy and very helpful. His help and advice was the decision point to buy the car. The store itself is a good one, with a big variety of Ford cars, keeping true to the quality of the warranty used cards that Ford have.
