Ben is a star. An honest, helpful and no nonsense salesman who doesn't try and push you into anything. The car is exactly as described and he even went to a dealership next door ( a bit of a walk in the back streets of Newhaven) to find a specialised wheel spanner that wasn't in the boot. Not often that buying a used car is a pleasant experience but Ben makes sure it is!

Ben is a genuine and lovely man who runs a long-established and trustworthy business. He was in no hurry to sell my son a car as he said it is important to get him a car he really wants. The first time we visited, Ben did not have what my son was looking for but a few months later, he did. The car came with a brand new 12 month MOT, new catalytic converter and all in perfect working order despite being quite an old car. During a test drive with Ben, we learned some advanced driving techniques and got some good advice on how to prevent wear on the brakes. We told him about a bad experience with a rogue dealer in Coventry and he was justly disgusted and equally despairing of such people who create distrust in the used car market. His openness and frankness is a testament to his honesty. I would recommend a trip to AMC cars in Newhaven if you are looking for a no nonsense deal on a used car. If Ben has what you want, it will be a good purchase.

We visited here because my son was interested in purchasing a car. There are a lot of cars here. We phoned ahead and when we arrived there was no one there. We were greeted by a loudspeaker telling us to have a look around and do not damage anything as we were on CCTV. We eventually found the vehicle of interest and were immediately disappointed. All the tyre walls were cracked, it definitely hadn't been spruced up inside or out, it stank of cat's pee inside and everywhere there were cobwebs. All around there were various cars all with flat tyres and cobwebs hanging off their dirty bodies. Not appealing at all.
Further to your answer. We phoned ahead and enquired about a particular vehicle on a Friday and arrived at 2.15pm as arranged with you. The vehicle was unlocked and that's how we smelled the cat's pee.

My son was buying his first car and Ben couldn't have been better in his advice with the car and what was best to buy including insurance and how much petrol the car would use. I found Ben to be very friendly & helpful. After showing us the automatic cars available, he took us for a test ride in the one my wife liked. We were both allowed to drive it, which put us literally in the driving seat to make a decision about the car. On deciding to buy the car, Ben set about MOTing, servicing & valeting the car, telling us to return in a couple of days. We received a call the very next day to confirm it was ready. On purchasing the car Ben insisted that if the car was to be of fault within the next 3 months to contact him immediately & he would remedy the situation. Everything has gone well & we will return to him for a bigger car once my wife has passed her test.

DO NOT GO TO AMC CARS. He has been blacklisted by multiple mechanics (including the recovery company who came to get my car) for being dodgy. You might be lucky and get a car from Ben that has no problems but if it does have problems, he won't sort it. I bought a Peugeot 206 from him which overheated when in traffic. I took it back to him within the warrantee period but he couldn't fix it. I then took it back but he was incredibly rude and patronising (it was outside of the guarantee period but the problem had been identified within the period so it was his responsibility). He told me it was fixed, it wasn't. The car continued to overheat, the head gasket went and the recovery guy said he had never seen so much oil in the water coolant. In hindsight, I should have demanded my money back when I initially took the car back or paid for a mechanic to look at it for me. It cost me £900 and lasted 3 months. Save yourself the hassle and do not go to AMC cars. Make sure you get a second hand car that has been RAC approved.

Awful, brought a ford KA for 1200 and just had to sell to a car mechanic for 200, within 3 months of having it, 100% sold me a dodgy car, with numerous problems. My first proper car that i had worked hard and saved up for and I was completely ripped off and lost all that money for a car I had for 3 months. Absolutely awful how you can treat customers like that. I called you and you were incredible rude to me and even shouted down the phone at me which was shocking! I'm guessing you felt power down to my age and felt you could be little me and my knowledge of cars. I would definitely not recommend this company or Ben to anyone! I was devastated! I lost my first car that I had saved for years for within a couple of months and then you call me to shout at me and make me feel even worse.
