No Implementation processes No consultant appointments No safe check review No employees' booklets as stated by salesman Basically. nothing from Croner as promised I also have a recent email from Croner offering to wave all outstanding monies and start again. This clearly suggests that they have not met their contractual obligations. My lawyer will rigorously chase all monies paid to date. I have called to discuss. The number and extension they gave me was wrong Beware!!!!!

As the owner of an SME, issues like Employee Handbooks, robust employment contracts and H&S are cast to the side as I juggle accounts and cash flow, marketing and taking care of customers and HMRC, maintaining a fleet of vehicles etc. Croner have relentlessly held me to my appointments to cover these other issues. As a result I feel confident that as an employer I'm in a strong place, backed by Croner and in compliance with the regulations. I have been able to work with the consultants to develop a blend between what is required and what we practice, and at all times I've found them to be flexible and understanding, whilst at the same time firm where the law simply does not permit flexibility.

Please avoid! Having initially contacted the company by phone I was assured a consultant would be with us in a day or two to discuss our issues. A very nice gentleman turned up who knew nothing about our issues as he was a salesman and not a lawyer. All he could do was set up a contract and we could then use the 'extensive services' provided by the company. We signed a 12 month contract there and then. Shortly afterwards, having tried to use these services it was clear it wasn't for us. However, having signed a 12 month contract we laboured on with the monthly payments until the end of the contract receiving nothing in return. I received an email and an invoice 2 days after the end of the contract so I replied saying I no longer required their services only to be informed that I hadn't read the small print and the contract has automatically rolled onto another 12 months. This had not been explained to us when we signed. Now in order to get out of the agreement I have to pay 80% of the annual fee. All my own fault, of course. I just want others to be aware of how these people operate. We have since used another on-line lawyer who provided us with precisely what we needed at a fraction of the cost

Mirroring other reviews regarding this company. I initially signed a 12 month contract for HR. Around 2 months before its expiration Croner sent in a salesman to sell us a Health and Safety package. I agreed to this and we discussed the termination of the HR contract. However, Croner set up the H and S contract but failed to cancel the HR. They have advised me they are unable to cancel it and that I would need to either pay to exit the contract or see it out. My advice is to be warey of this company and be fully aware of who you are dealing with.

Avoid in my opinion. I thought I was getting free advice from a lawyer after filling out an online form on what I THOUGHT was the ACAS website after a google search, but as they just have the word splashed all over their landing page and then this lead to a 90 min sales pitch from a target-driven salesman who used words like 'tribunal' and 'no win no fee' and 'prosecution', as well as slating my current HR support company by saying "that's the trouble with these template document companies, they don't work". I was so scared by the picture he had painted I actually thanked him at the end of the call for taking his time with me! (I still thought he was an employment lawyer giving free advice at this point and trusted every word he said). I felt such relief at the time because they offered me a face to face service, where they would meet with a disgruntled employee (who had already quit) and hold a grievance meeting on my behalf, specifically mentioning that I would not need to be there if I did not want to. This sounded attractive to me at the time as after all the terminology used in the sales pitch, I was just relieved by that point to know that this company was going to save me from possibly going to jail and take care of it all for me (I have not committed any crimes just to be clear, I was now just scared that something very bad will happen if I try to run things on my own). The very next morning I called up to arrange this face to face meeting as described to me the day before, and I was told that my 'plan doesn't cover face to face services', and that they would send me template documents so that I can learn to do it by myself. I had no idea there were different plans. I was only offered one service, one price. I already pay for a template document service elsewhere. After challenging this and getting nowhere, I started to feel very uneasy. I asked about cooling off periods. I stated that the service had been misrepresented in the sales pitch. I told them the contract was null and void as it was instantly breached under the Unfair Contract terms of 1977 as Misrepresentation under Section 8 in accordance with Section 3. They still maintain that I am not allowed to 'cancel' without penalties. They continue to harass me for money. They continue to argue that I am mistaken (I never even knew face to face services existed online until their Employment Consultant specifically told me to my face that she would get someone to call me regarding setting up this meeting the next day, right before ending the sales pitch). Since complaining, they have 'offered' me one face to face service for free, and offered to reduce my contract from 5 years down to 3 years, which is irrelevant because the contract is null and void, but they just wont accept it, and keep trying to come back with their 'amicable solution'. It feels like this company do not want customers to stay with them out of choice and that they only force you to stay by trapping you. There is no cooling off period whatsoever and they just keep arguing that I signed a contract as a business not a consumer, despite not getting the product I ordered. I feel that as the director of a Ltd company, with no employees, just me, there is not enough protection from these kinds of deals and had I known that they were not affiliated with ACAS I would have been far more wary. My Bank, Citizens Advice Bureau, the Federation of Small Businesses and Trading Standards are all supporting me, and Trading Standards have progressed the investigation to the local office to this company in order to start compiling the evidence. Please contact Trading Standards in the Hinckley area if you are also affected in this way. As a member of FSB I plan to lobby further with the investigation that started regarding Protection of small businesses when purchasing goods and services. I am being treated like "one size fits all", but I am only one person, not a big corporation, and having to deal with this is taking far too much time out of my working day.

Spoke to Kate who is new to the service. I was really impressed with her comprehensive support and full understanding of our needs. We work within social care which does not always attract the best support and advice from HR advice specialists as they often don't have the industry background. On this occasion the support was superb as the advisor had the relevant sector back ground experience an this made a world of difference.

Absolutely appalling company. I have had to complain several times both verbally and in writing. They called my number last Friday but the woman did not know my name or my company. She told me the number had come up on her screen! I phoned the complaints team and was told they were very busy - I wonder why!!! I was told I would get a call back. That was at 13.38 on Friday 22nd January 2021. Still waiting. Do not touch this group with someone else's bargepole.

Terrible company, do not use at all costs. Total waste of money not only that but in a recent legal case the advice we received was not only poor but totally inaccurate. Our representative knew very little about our case, entered legal meetings without looking at any evidence and acted without our consent costing us thousands of pounds ultimately. After months of complaining we were fobbed off as the member of staff had ‘left’ and stated that because they no longer worked for them it was no longer their problem essentially!

For goodness sake read the small print very carefully, once you have signed a contract there is no cheap way out. Cancellation fee is 80% of the amount remaining on your contract. Emails can take over 2 weeks to be responded to, call backs are often not forthcoming.

Please avoid!! I was sold a product by an extremely plausible and charming representative who asured me I would receive precisely what I wanted from thiscompany. I signed a 12 month agreement. However, it soon became obvious I would never get the personal service and guidence I had been promised. I put it down to experience and cancelled the contract at the end of the term. Sadly, I was 2 days late so now have to pay for 80% of another 12 month contract, and for dubious services I cannot access even if I wanted to. I've been in business for a long time and am aware that occasionally you get caught by sharp practise. I just feel foolish.

Cold Callers who use fake information from companys house to try to trick you into putting them through to the director. No professional company cold calls you - if they cold call you vote with your feet and you can find far better service elsewhere if you need what they are offering I can assure you that.

Very poor experience with a Croner Face 2 Face consultant, initals RR. I took my employer to a greivance hearing back in January, with my greivances directed at a director's conduct. The F2F consulant allowed the minutes to be recorded by the director's daughter, a clear conflict of interest. It is certain that she passed information on to the director due to the nature of the relationship, which gave an unfair advantage to him. Why Corner decided this was appropriate I have no idea. Subsequent employees have since left beacuse of the same director's conduct.

Sold a product that was definitely not fit for purpose. Politely explained this to the so called customer service department and asked to cancel the contract before we even used any of there so called services etc. Refused point blank to help us out. A costly regret on our part. My advice to anyone would be to avoid this company at all costs.

Like most, was mis sold a 5 year contract, when finding out we tried to cancel but they weren’t having any of it! Ended up in court which cost us money, eventually sorted everything but did come at a cost to us. What makes it worse is that they still send us emails asking if we’re happy with their service even though they took us to court and the contract has been cancelled! Left arm doesn’t know what it’s doing from it’s right arm! Disgraceful company

Worst company I've ever dealt with. The support they promised me when joining them was not met, when I asked for their advice, I was simply told to search it up on google. Like most reviews on here, they lured me into a false contract which has now left me in a £7,000 debt. I would understand if they spent money in a service to provide for me (which they didn't ) they are robbing me of £7000 Do not recommend these to anyone....really wish there was a 0 Star review, because these would get that any day.

I've had to contact the HR team on occasions, who have so far been very help full and supported me with the required documentation. Mark Whigham is currently assisting us with our Health and Safety requirements. He was very thorough when walking us through the Health and Safety requirements for our site, which made us feel like we are in very capable hands. Mark is a true professional and very knowledgeable in his field. I have had to contact him on a couple of occasions with regards to health and safety advice, he has always swiftly returned my calls and emailed any documentation required. I would give Mark a full 5 Star review, however as a company as a whole 4 stars, due to the contractual length being 5 years. Very long contract to be tied into for small businesses, would be better if a break close was introduced.

We have taken this company to the financial ombudsman as we were misled into signing a contract without making it clear that it would be for 5 years therefore costing £12,000. Naively we didn’t ask how long the contract was at the time of signing and the information wasn’t volunteered. The five was handwritten but barely legable in the last paragraph. The ombudsman has asked Croner to come up with an offer so will post when we get their response. The British Horse Society have recently stopped their contract with Croner. We originally heard about this company through the BHS.
