Strange how a year can change the retail market. It is spectacularly DEAD IN THE WATER. And from this particular experience for me, went from impress to depress. From friendly, knowledgeable staff, to rude, obnoxious and abrupt Klingons. Last year I teamed a Note 8 with a Samsung Galaxy 9. As a Journalist the ability to take notes with a stylus pen is a useful tool in one's Journalistic arsenal. But a new phone was required. Because of Lockdown this store only opened up again last week, and boy what a change in retail staff's character. The store was empty of customers, but full of Samsung Staff Star-trekkers - all decked out in the latest PPE protection gear like my dear self. What were they all needed for? Taking paranoia to a new level a rude Star-Trekker left manners at home, and bordering on anxious agitation at the prospect of having anyone enter the store. That was OFF LIMITS. Happy to do a deal at the front door - item for credit card. No entry was permitted to look before you buy. Rudeness personified. Not a hint of friendliness even though both staff member and member of public wore PPE. To leave and take business to the opposition only solution. Lost business for Samsung. In short. The High Street has lost it's business to online sales. You would think programmed androids, masquerading as helpful sales attendees would learn the technique of sophistry & drop the bullish, brusque attitude. Personally, I would have thought that any amount of coaxing to buy with a little human warmth would be a good way to do business during such a harsh time. Necessary in order to win friends and influence people who are 'influential.' After all, the bottom line is to 'make a sale' at the end of the day, no?

Customer service in the Cardiff store is absolutely appalling! Right attitudes on them! Love you when you are spending thousands though. Same customer service over a year & a half later....STILL THEY DONT ANSWER THE PHONE. A phone shop that struggle to answer the phone! ???? How ironic. ????

I attended the store this morning as my phone screen stopped working and let me just say the service I received was amazing. I attended to the store this morning about 11am I was told the cost of the repair and how long it would take to repair and the man that served me was so kind and polite ! Unfortunately I use my phone for work reasons and as the cost was not much difference compared to a new phone therefor I decided to buy a new one there and then. I asked the young man to help me find a new one and he advised me amazingly on what the best phones were for my requirements and guided me. The purchase was quick and easy and the service I received was impeccable. The man was very polite and and seemed a genuinely kind person, I have not received such good customer service in a phone shop before! I am so over the moon with my new phone and highly believe that this employee should be praised for his amazing customer service. I am unfortunately unsure of the mans name but he was about 24-25 years old and had more of a welsh accent. I had purchased a Samsung Galaxy A71 and he was just brilliant! Thank you very Much , Georgia.

Have visited the store several times with a couple of those times resulting in a purchase. I find the store staff very helpful and have a good knowledge of the products they sell. They are happy for you to have a play with the devices to make sure you are happy with them before hand. Staff on the door to control how many people enter the shop and hand sanitizer on the door.

Greeted on the door by a not very welcoming young lady. When my friend tryed to explain his problem with the phone he purchased there the week before, there wasn't much enthusiasm to help us, in comparison to the younger youth of today and the help it seems they are entitled to. We walked away after being treated poorly. Would not buy a single thing from there again

Okay today, walking into the store I was amazed by the impressive modern way the store looked. But that is sadly where the positive experience ended. I had a problem with a Samsung phone I had purchased, and I had booked an appointment to visit the store today, Arriving five minutes early for my appointment I sat waiting to be seen and as time went on my allotted time came and went....If the store had been busy I would of understood but we had a few members of staff sat around in my limited experience doing what appeared to be passing the time, so I approached and asked about my appointment, to which I can only say was a brush off and the impression of not really caring, a few moments later a member of staff came from upstairs and explained that I would have to wait longer as he had to book someone else in, sadly I did run out of time which I was vocal about but the response was "should of come in earlier" again what was the point of the appointment if I would of needed to turn up earlier than an allotted time, five minutes before hand is usually sufficient. So poor communication, lacking of emotional intelligence ( lacking empathy or compassion ) and poor customer service. All of which are a basic in customer facing roles, all that would of been needed was a member of staff to ask why I was in today, with some compassion we could understood each other better and with better service I could of left unseen but happy enough to come back as it is the way works some times, I have had better service from staff in Burgerking when waiting for food during lunch time. I hope it improves for others

Phone in for repair for a week, that's just up to now! Was told 2 days. No phone call as promised just to update us and NEVER answer the phone! Make out they are experiencing high call numbers. LIES! ???? Store is empty! Staff NOT too busy in the slightest. Do I risk travelling to get my possible unfixed phone? Or wait another week for their call!? Your reply.... ???? ANSWER THE PHONE THEN! your reply is telling me to ring!!!! I AMMMMM!!!!! AS PREDICTED.... too busy too pick up. Clearly reading through these reviews, you have a problem hearing the phone! JOKE! Spend HUNDREDS here. Ridiculous customer service!

Got a galaxy fold as a gift and took it to the shop to check for eligibility of premium care. Been waiting 40 minutes with the staff not wanting to help with so many ill informed questions. Finally someone stepped in and said he will check the status of the care+. However, I've been neglected again and left to wait for an hour. Very bad customer service for having their most expensive smartphone. Update: after all the waiting, there was that one rude staff employee that kept answering my questions regarding the warranty very unapologetically and never letting me finish my questions. In the end he said we can't help you figure how long my warranty is valid for (which is absolute nonsense since checking the IMEI would 100% provide that information) and that I had to call customer support by phone to get this info! I felt indirectly discriminated by the staff as a whole, not just that employee which made feel very angry but my manners are in control unlike the staff. Hate to blame a brand I love by this awful disgusting service from Cardiff store.

Best place to go when got a problem with your phone. Located just up from Marks & Spencers and before you get to St Davids Centre entrance. It is on the same side. Try and phone to make an appointment when it is busy/normal shopping. Today seen straight away and they did a quick diagnostic and found the problem. Also good if thinking of buying a new phone or a Samsung product. Staff are very helpful and will look after you as quickly as they possibly can.

None of the employees seem like they want to be there. Very very limited technical knowledge as one of them said 'I don't know as much about Samsung as you do so I can't do anything you can't'. I was told to come back in 24 hours just to be able to have a diagnostic test ran on my phone and when I asked if they were really that busy the employee just said 'yes' and went to the back. The store has made me think about going back to Apple who although don't have the latest technology have good customer service.

Store is empty in a rainy day, i was late for 10 minutes for 2.30 pm repair tech appoinment. Store staff shaz refused to serve me as i was 10 mimutes late, i spoke to samsung customer services on th phone, i was not given a proper answer too. Store still empty i received similar service in january 2020,staff was very polite and helpful. Whaat has changed and cardiff samsung store turm out so rude and selfish

After holding out for as long as possible with a very worn out Galaxy S7 and waiting for the S10 to arrive I was finally forced to bite the bullet as my S7 had all but given up performing. I visited the Samsung store on Queen Street, Cardiff. I was greeted and explained that I knew exactly what I wanted and which deal. I was introduced to Owen who immediately came across as a very personable guy who I felt very comfortable with. He also expressed a genuine willingness to want to help. Having chosen the colour of the new phone we agreed a deal and proceeded to set up the new phone. However, the transfer of all my data from old phone to new proved very challenging and would not go according to plan. This was due entirely to the condition of my old phone and presented Owen with some difficulties he had not encountered before. But rather then get phased with this situation he embraced it and saw it as a new challenge and really got stuck in trying to solve the issues with the transfer. This ended up taking much longer than anticipated but he stuck at it and his determination in getting it resolved was unrelenting. During this time we engaged in various non phone type conversation as he combined excellent customer service with his technical know how. After a lot of effort he finally got it all sorted which resulted in high fives and both of us very happy. I have worked in customer service for many years and I can honestly say Owen has exemplary customer interaction skills combined with that eagerness to want to please. The store manager Gareth was also very pleasant. Well done Owen and the store in general. Highly recommended!

Modern looking well laid out store. Initially had some challenges to replace a lost ear buds charging case but staff persevered for what felt like an over complicated bureaucratic process. Left happy though and very impressed with my Galaxy Note 10 plus.

Can't praise this place enough. Fitted me in with less than 24 hours notice for a warranty repair on my phone (charging issue). I arrived early expecting a wait but was seen straight away. Repaired in house and given back to me in less than half an hour. Very friendly staff looking to go the extra mile, 100% recommended and I'll be back for my next purchase

What great customer service I experienced at the Cardiff store. Dropped my phone in mid day on a Sunday to get a screen burn issue sorted under warranty. Didn't expect to get it back for a few days. As I was about to leave Cardiff a few hours later I thought on the off chance I wonder if its been fixed. It had, and what a great repair they done. A totally refurbished phone! Great service Samsung! From a happy longstanding customer.

My Samsung Tablet would not charge so I visited the store. Was told that the charging point was fine and the problem was the motherboard and they could not repair it. I took the tablet to an independent repairer who told me that the charging point was damaged and they fitted a new one and now the tablet is fully charged and working. How competent is your staff in dealing with a simple repair problem or was the reason an encouragement for me to buy a new tablet.
