We were recently shown around a property and the agent, Luke, couldn't have been more helpful. He is very polite and has a sense of humour which is very much lacking in some people that we have dealt with. Unfortunately our circumstances have changed and we will no longer be moving to Oxford so I wanted to write this review to give Luke the credit he deserves.

Rude staff!! All they care about it getting their money!! After nearly 5 months of telling them we are going to different estate agent they still keep sending tenancy agreement for a house we have viewed with them... and its every day late at night! ...
They kept twisting my words to make me a person who is at wrong.. they were telling different things every time they contacted me..... hate them and NOT recommending them at all!!!!! Avoid them at all costs!! Bunch of liars!!!!

My partner and I recently rented a flat through Martin & Co. The initial experience was rather mixed, but Cheri asked for a meeting with the Manager and made clear what we were unhappy with and everything got sorted out, with no ill feeling - which was impressive. Once we had signed the lease and moved in, I was unsure what they would be like. Enter Charlotte Stephenson, who is their property manager. Our standard of service went up from 3 star to 6 star. When we raised a problem it was sorted out, within hours. Friendly, professional and completely on the ball. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you so so much. Pete Ashby

Booked a viewing with them, they said I can pick any date and then out of a whole week they could only do a certain half an hour. At the viewing they didn't know the answers to general questions like does the property have a cleaner and when would the ceiling leak be fixed. When moving in I requested some of their 'services' and although they were put in my contract I never received them. Sold me an insurance and in the end it turned out they couldn't provide it. Last but not least one of their employees blocked my card when I was paying my renewal fee with them. Will definitely avoid in the future if possible.

Unfortunately I happened to have terrible experience with Martin Co. Initially before signing the contract the agents were eager to help with my property search and soon I chose a suitable flat. The flat required some maintenance (The showers/baths had incredibly unpleasant stains) and cleaning of the outer balcony, I was assured that these issues would be fixed ASAP and as a result made a decision to sign the contract.
As soon as I became the tenant the agency completely lost interest in the situation and kept responding that the things will be fixed in the near future. So far almost three months have passed with no sign of improvement.
As a result of the above I cannot recommend Martin Co and would suggest to seek other agents. I will happy to provide additional info to those interested.

We rented a flat in Headington via Martin & Co. and our experience was very positive. Luckily we had no need of maintenance, thus I can't comment on that side, but check in, check out and communication went smoothly. I would definitely recommend this agency for renting a property in Oxford.

They have been very helpful and supportive all through the time of putting the property in decent order and in dealing with subsequent lettings and with any problems that have arisen. I am grateful to them for easing the burden!

I rented a room through this agency and I had the worst time ever in this house. Staff is unfriendly, unprofessional and lying. I was the first one moving into the house, which was devastated by the former tenants and which obviously left it in a bad condition with rubbish. Nonetheless, I had to clean everything and was left alone with mould, "which I should clean" according to the agency.
I was in a shared house with 5 bedrooms and we were 3 young girls. After the agency was unable to rent one of the rooms to an ordinary person, they let a 55 year old, unemployed smoking alcoholic with no teeth in the house. In the end, he molested one of us girls. He also created a strong odour in the house, which was unbearable. The agency pretended to be unable to do anything and I had a one-year contract, which I couldn't end. I am from Germany and came to Oxford to do my Master's degree there - thanks to Martin & Co., I had the most horrible time in the UK and ever in my life.

Absolutely terrible service. I have had an awful year with the letting agency. Not only were they secretive about a mould issue that we've had at the start of the year - but now they have offered very little help in being the liaison between the landlord and I, concerning that we our having issues with our electricity. Would not recommend.

I was looking for a new flat in Oxford, UK that was both affordable and relatively close to where I work in the city centre. My contract at the old flat was about to expire, and I was a bit nervous about finding a new place in so little time and with long working hours.
I dropped Martin & Co an email stating my preferences and price range, and got a reply with about 3-4 apartments to look at. I booked a viewing for 2 of them, and put in an offer for the one I liked.
Within a week, all the paper work was taken care of by the agency - all I had to do was show up and hand in the contract with the required payment.
I highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a place to live!

The tenants have never caused any problems and have always paid on time, I put this down to the thorough reference process Martin & Co adopt and the fact that they have given me their honest opinion when putting forwards applicants details. I would definitely recommend renting a property with Martin & Co Oxford. I had been looking for a flat for while, but was disappointed by what I had seen until I came across Martin & Co. They were very helpful and understanding. We spoke about what I am looking for and they told me that they would contact me if anything came up. Surely enough, they contacted me within a week about a property they thought I may be interested in. They were very helpful throughout the whole process and always available. I thought the procedure would be difficult because I live overseas, however they made it as easy and as smooth as possible. I am very pleased my experience. I had a viewing for a house in Oxford just over a year ago for me and my housemates. Our estate agent Luke Vecchione did our viewing and he was he was very professional, friendly and helped us with anything we needed. Hi here is Matthieu from France, I've contacted Martin&Co and in less than 1 week the keys of my new room were in my hands ! The whole paper process was really easy (still have 1 or 2 forms to fil in) and I was able to pay in cash because I haven't my bank account yet opened. I don't expect much in the way of professionalism or good manners from estate agents, but wow Martinco Oxford have surpassed my already very low expectations. Lying about organised viewings (including arriving at our flat without notice, luckily we were home and sent them away), rude over the phone and email, pushy and unpleasant to deal with. Luke, Conor, and Kate. They'll probably be perfectly nice when you're looking for an apartment to rent, but oh so different once you've agreed to end the lease.
