Martin & Co have been absolutely brilliant in assisting me with the sale of my property. Jordan Baskerville dealt with it from beginning to end, the service was excellent. I received an offer one week after it going on the market and have just exchanged contracts. Jordan kept me informed at all times of the progress of the sale. Searching in great difficulty for an apartment for my family in Central Oxford, lucky to meet Mr Conor of Martin & Co. Woodins Way. Quick and professional in response to my requests. Showed us some apartments to choose from and based on our needs he recommended us an apartment still not on the market. Arranged with the tenant immediately and we were satisfied with the property after viewing. Fixed everything for us in around 7 days because of our urgency, including all the negotiations, cleaning of the property, etc. After moving in, we reported some problems and they sent very good builder to help fix all of the problems. We are very grateful to Mr Conor and all his so helpful colleagues. Thank you all so much for the help to a family just relocated to the UK!

I am rating the referencing side of letting a one star, as when passed onto the ladies on that end, I felt like they did not care at all about me or my queries, let alone actually getting my reference done. As I have worked in referencing for over a year, I know how quick and easy referencing can be and the excuses and time it took them to complete my reference were astounding and fabricated, from what I know from prior experience. Countless calls that were left asking why the reference was taking so long, were only ever responded with “I’ll pass that on” to hear no response back. However I would rate the initial estate/letting advisor a 5 star as Jordan was extremely personable and caring, as far enough to actually help me with things such as finding how to get a parking permit for when I was to move, as well as just generally being a very nice guy, could not recommend him anymore, I also believe he was the reason my reference was not held up any longer as he also pushed them to finish it.

A special mention must be given to Jordan and Zoe, both of them have been the most helpful throughout my search for a "home" in Oxford. While the pandemic has brought about a great deal of uncertainties, the staff at Martin & Co did everything they could to ease my concerns.

This is a great agency with affordable good quality properties for rent. However, they could be more on top of their game by communicating better with each other as tenancy stages progress. From one visit in person my impression is that they have a siloed task-driven organisation style. Which is fine, until the point where they all give conflicting pieces of information to a tenant. The transition process from booking through to routine property management runs like a fairly smooth well-oiled machine. And the whole process (apart from handing over the keys) can be done remotely on a mobile phone. The people who work there are polite, professional and well grounded and that is surely the key ingredient to the success of the agency.

The letting process started easy at the beginning just to turn into a complete nonsense later on.
Jordan helped us with the preliminary details and application. His service could be rated 5 stars.
Moving on, after paying a holding deposit we were given 2 weeks for the references to be obtained. However, the whole process only started in the beginning of week 2, so the whole thing got extended by another half week.
On top of that, the person dealing with our application showed a complete lack of competence. Both me and my girlfriend received emails with the wrong recipients or regarding the wrong property, which could count as a leak of personal information.
The rental process is done now, but I seriously doubting the usefulness of this agency.

My family and I have rented an apartment in central Oxford for the past 8 months with Martin & Co as the managing agents. Throughout our tenancy we found Martin & Co to be absolutely professional, helpful, courteous and quick to respond to all of concerns. They were also completely fair and impartial in all dealings between ourselves and our landlord who they were also representing.
Kate Kennedy as Branch Manager did a great job in managing our tenancy and was particularly helpful when we wanted to terminate our one-year tenancy early after we bought a property here. Martin & Co. were equally efficient and effective in taking care of the landlord's interests and I have no hesitation in recommending their services to landlord's and tenants alike.

Thief, they will keep part of your deposit without a real reason , the DPS doesn't really protect you , they can do anything they want with your Money, i won't suggest this company and any other big company to anyone. Manager highly unqualified, (miss Kate). They do viewing and inspection at any time and As many times As they want (not allowed in the contract), they don't care in any of the contract clause and they increased the rent after just 6 month of more than 5% (not allowed in the contract).

Very happy to recommend Martin & Co for those looking to rent in the Oxford area. I was shown around a property by Connor, who was polite and friendly. Once I'd decided to make an offer, Luke was extremely helpful in securing the property for us and did an excellent job of negotiating the move in date with the landlord on our behalf. He has been very responsive to my queries, and has even contacted me outside of office hours to make sure I am updated with any developments. Very happy with the customer service.

Very bad experience!!
On the very first day when we move into the flat. There is no hot water nor shower in the house!
We go back to Martin & Co for help. They simply throw the number of landlord and said it's not their responsibility to deal with the fix. To make things worse, the so-called landlord never pick up the phone!!!
What we are angry most is the agency's attitude. When we come to them, they show no interests offering any help. They didn't even try to!!! Simply ask us to seek for advice from Citizen Advice. What a joke!!!
Not professional at all. Even private landlord can do better. Very disappointed. Regret to use them.

If you are looking for your new home in Oxford, I recommend you to put in touch with Martin and Co Oxford, and especially with Luke Vecchione. I believe this is the best housing company in the city (it's quite hard to find a place in Oxford), and Luke was always very professional and interested in helping me to find a house, even sending me videos of apartments before my arrival in the UK or calling me out of office hours. Luke was very comprehensive and did an excellent job to arrange my move on time. I'm very happy with the customer service and for the confidence that I felt to make a rental contract through this company.

In searching for a flat in Oxford we were contacted by Jordan Baskerville from Martins & Co Oxford. Jordan arranged a number of viewings for us. He was professional, polite and extremely helpful. Where the key to a property was not available, Jordan would ensure that a video was taken and sent to us. He was able to find a flat that ticked all our requirements in a short period of time. Unfortunately the move to Oxford did not materialize this time, but should it happen in the future the first agent we will be contacting will be Jordan of Martins & Co Oxford.

My case was pretty urgent as the college notified me really late that they don't have any accommodation anymore. It was literally two days before arrival. I immediately contacted letting agents in Oxford and Luke was the friendliest one amongst all of them. He helped me settled everything in less than two days. He would constantly contact me just to keep me up to date with the latest progress, even after office hours. So I'll finally have a place to stay tomorrow and I won't be homeless all thanks to Luke from Martin & Co.

Made an appointment over the phone with Aaron for a viewing at my house. Waited in for an hour, nobody showed up. I phoned the office who put me on hold for about 10 minutes and then cut me off. I rang back and they said Aaron was unavailable, he was on another line. They then said he had put nothing in the diary. They then said Aaron would phone me. But nothing.

We had a good feeling about Martin & Co as soon as we met Luke. He was very friendly, extremely professional and a fast mover! It has taken a week from when we first saw the property advertised, to having all paper work completed deposit being paid. Nothing has been too much trouble and both Luke and Iulia have been extremely helpful, they’ve always been at the end of the phone to answer our calls, and they’ve responded to our emails very quickly!! I have just recently rented a property through Martin & Co and have had such a pleasant and positive experience with them the whole way through. Luke was prompt in booking a viewing with me and then forwarding any questions I had to the landlord, and in answering everything I wanted to know. Both Luke and Iulia and have been helpful and accommodating through the whole application process, including booking extra viewings for me to go back and see the property again and replying promptly to any emails I've sent. Firstly, only communicate via e-mail. You WILL need everything in writing. They have a convenient way of forgetting what they have said. Even after proving them wrong the still deny all knowledge. Just get everything in writing, it will help. Please, please, please, get /everything/ in writing.
They seemed helpful at first, they were pleasant and helpful. As I signed the contract they seemed overly pushy for me to write a review. If this is the same for you, give it a few months before doing so. They'll take your money and not want anything to do with you.
I have had a number of issues with were I am renting. If you want anything sorted keep pestering them. It's the only way to get things achieved.
They will tell you what you want to hear, but until you see results don't believe a word. The ones I dealt with are lazy. And I have been told that others are just as bad. They are rude and they don't care about their clients. They lie and and avoid answers.
They are an appalling company. For the money I am paying I would expect a better service. Be prepared be treated like dirt. Even their tainees will think they are better than you.
Martin and Co have done a wonderful job at finding a group of agents that don't care and are ill-trained.
If I can sway one person to think twice about using them I will be happy. I cannot stress enough how awful they are.
Hate is a strong word, and accurate. If I could give no stars, I would. 1 is being generous!

I have been letting my property for many years and on the recommendation of a friend, changed my agents to Martin & Co. What a good decision as I am delighted with their personal touch and care! Lily and Richard are always most helpful and the fact that they do "surprise" visits to ensure the property is being cared for by the tenants is a bonus for the Agents always report back to me. In addition, on one occasion, the tenants were 2-3 days late in paying the rent, so I was immediately alerted by the accounts department, something which never occurred with any other agents I have used. I can recommend Martins without any reservation! Well done and thanks.

Best agency in Oxford for customer service and advice! I went into Martin and Co a week or two ago so I could discuss renting a flat from them next year, straight way from opening the door I was greeted by a well-spoken and very smartly dressed young gentleman, he immediately stood up introduced himself as Rhys and sat me down and offered me a hot beverage. When discussing a flat to rent he was very open and knowledgeable, he went on informing me about my different options, once I informed him I had my own property up north, he gave me some great advice on what I could do if I wanted to rent it out In the near future. I will without a doubt be contacting Martin and Co next year when I need to move.

I was a tenant for nineyears, paid my rent in time, looked after the property. When I came to leave I was shocked at the appalling way in which I was treated. Firstly I was buying a property so attempted to renegotiate an extension of my tenancy and asked to work with the agents. I was advised I had to renew for a full term and had no choice. When I then needed to give notice I was informed I had to pay nearly £2000 to cover the cost of find a new tenant as I was finishing the contract early. I had paid hundreds if thousands in rent so this I felt was shocking.
This was eventually waived after much discussion and resistance on my part - I felt I was being totally exploited.
Then came check out - I had cleaners in for 3?days, there was some wear and tear but it was left in a good condition. I returned the keys through their letterbox and had to chase after 10 days to check they had received them.
There was no information regarding the opportunity to be present at final property inspection, nor information regarding the return of the deposit. Again, I had to dispute aspects of this as wear and treat Lear wasn’t being considered and they were trying to charge me for recleaning the entire property.
Once again I felt totally exploited and had to fight for my rights.
I feel this company is all about exploiting the tenants and the staff seem very unconcerned. It’s best to go direct to managers and save yourself a lot of time and stress, and be prepared to stand up for your rights.

Unhelpful and neglectful.
I rented a room in North Oxford through Martin & Co. When moving into the property, the room my landlord and I had signed a contract over was not yet available because the ceiling needed to be painted (something I was assured would be completed prior to the start of my tenancy)... Each week I was told I would be able to move into my contracted room at the end of that week - I stayed in a room half the size, living out of a suitcase for 5 weeks before I was finally able to move into the correct room, even having offered to paint the ceiling myself a number of times. Martin & Co did nothing apart from chase me for my full rent for this month while I was still waiting to move in to the correct room. I was since offered some compensation by the landlady who then did not pay it in full so I had to deduct the remaining balance from my rent payment for the next month and was again chased by the letting agent who did nothing to support their tenant while not receiving the room I had paid for.
I have since moved out of the property 5 weeks ago and I am still waiting for my security deposit to be reimbursed because of a cleaning fee which was not agreed upon. Upon questioning the fee because I left the room in a pristine condition, it was suggested that the fee is justified because I am not being charged for the blinds which were broken since before I moved into the room. This suggestion has been later dropped, however the 3 week long email chain is ongoing and so is my wait for an explanation as to what cleaning was actually required and the wait for my deposit.
I would strongly discourage anyone that is thinking of renting through Martin & Co from doing so. I am sure there must be alternative options where you are guaranteed to get the room you pay for and they won't hold your security deposit ransom over fictitious cleaning charges.

Luke Vecchione has been superb from the beginning.
When the property, that we will now be renting, came on the market we were really excited to see it. But we found it difficult to arrange an appropriate time with Luke, so in the meantime we began viewing other properties. Then Luke kindly rang a few weeks later to book a viewing at a time that he knew we could do, and he seemed just as excited as we were.
He has since been excellent at communicating with us and making sure the process for renting the property has been easy and efficient.
I feel very pleased in the knowledge that we have the support of an excellent agent.

I have let my properties through Martin & Co for a year now. My experience has been really excellent - the manager I am dealing with is very proactive and competent. Communication (telephone and emails) is swift and always followed-up. This is important to me as I am not always in the UK.
All issues are being dealt with by Martin & Co in an efficient and courteous manner. By far the best letting agent experience I had to date.

I contacted Martin & Co to arrange a viewing in a certain part of Oxford. Afterwards, Luke Vecchione checked in to hear how I felt about the property and suggested a couple more in the area. He facilitated these viewings with great professionalism, friendliness and enthusiasm, showing knowledge of the properties and understanding of our needs. I always felt my opinions and needs mattered a lot to him.
