This was a great find when moved to the area as they stock a much larger variety of goods than the big two that also have stores close by. They have a good selection of gluten free and healthier options. Lots of local meat, fruit, veg and baked goods. So glad we happened upon it whilst walking the dogs.

Absolutely terrifying. I shop at budgets every week and love the store and different products. This afternoon I was shocked as when I was paying my food bill a shop lifter was chased by staff out of the shop and on his way out he smashed a bottle of stolen red wine and it could have been very dangerous. A child was nearby and was totally distraught. I am now contemplating whether to risk shopping at your store which I am very upset about as I have a loyal and happy customer for years. What will take to stop this anti social disturbance and get my faith and safe well being again with Budges. It's such a shame for me and my family. Good luck with resolving this. Thankyou for many previous happy years shopping with Budgens.

There is a selection of local produce that other local supermarkets in the area don't stock and the Budgens fresh, bakery and meat/fish produce is of fairly consistent good quality, paying a premium for this isn't a problem however the shop is more expensive overall than others and the offers don't really ameliorate this. Its cheaper to do a weekly shop in Waitrose. The budget conscious will be better off with the local Tesco stores or the Sainsbury's for the bulk of necessary and/or branded items, using the money saved for the Budgens specific produce but you'll find a really good range of nice options, especially for a store this size and they do fresh produce really well.
