Simply calling this place a library is like calling CERN a few underground pipes. It is a cultural hub, and an exhaustive library. There hasn't been a book, manuscript, score or microfilm that I could not find, nor order in at no extra …

Nice place yet of recent weeks they can’t be bothered updating the opening times in accordance with their ever changing red tape concerning Covid. Went down last week after 11.30am and all closed. Shame on them, I’ll be looking to have it out with the manager and an offer of X2 coffee and cake vouchers will suffice as an apology.

Dispite covid19 taking a hit, they seem to be very reliable and still. Have most things open. There's a limit to computers and media area is closed but staff are very polite and happy to Help and they sanitise all the books.

Very impressive library with great facilities and a round reading room. The entrance has stained glass windows and crests of arms on the ceiling. There is a building next door and on the floor are the names of those who died at the Peterloo Massacre.

Such a lovely building, the local history section with the cafe is a great addition and the music library is fantastic, love how interactive it is. Shame they got rid of the English library on the top floor but I think the improvements to the rest of the library outweight it.

The library has nice facilities, but is way too cold! I was freezing after a few hours of working. It seems the library does not care too much about health and safety, due to this. I would be happy if the library could use heating when and where required.

Almost back to full opening, even though local covid R numbers are rising - good one way system in place, track and trace details taken each visit, masks compulsory, but all gently handled by cheerful staff! Magnificent library.
