When I suffered a knee injury close to the start of lock down I was so worried about what to do but Gillian was great . I felt safe with the Covid precautions they have in place and her treatments, exercises, recommendations and explanations have all been first class and I feel in a much better place now. I have come away with an exercise regime to continue to strengthen my knee and know that I can return if I have any further problems with it or want to review my progression. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gillian - thank you!

I was barely able to walk a few meters because of two herniated discs in my back, when I first went in to see Gillian. Now at the end of my treatment, I walked nearly 10k yesterday and I feel like I have got my life back! Thank you so much Gillian and Marilyn! I would recommend to anyone with back problems to use Harpenden sports and spinal!

I had severe sciatica due to my previously diagnosed stenosis in my spine. I approached Harpenden Sport Spinal and was informed about the IDD treatment. I had 15 sessions and found a major improvement in my complaint. The staff were really helpful and friendly and put me at my ease before my first treatment. I would highly recommend this clinic and am very pleased with the outcome.

I am very grateful for Gillian's help... Years after the initial treatment the difference is massive. A number of years ago I had pain in the arch of my foot and up my calves at the end of each day. The gait analysis Gillian undertook highlighted exactly what orthotic insoles I needed, and they completely removed the pain. I have subsequently bought a pair for each of my shoes and I have been pain free ever since. I recently had a minor issue with one of the pairs of insoles and although many years had gone by since the initial purchase Gillian was so helpful fixing the issue. Would recommend anyone in pain to visit.

I visited this clinic for IDD therapy in June 2020. I had been suffering from sciatica caused by a disc herniation L4-5 for over a year. On the initial consultation, Julian the Osteopath reviewed my MRI scan, MRI report and performed an assessment of my movement. I was advised the clinic has treated and recovered many patients suffering from disc herniations. But there was no guarantee I would have recovery as each individual case is different. To start the treatment I had to pay for a bloc of 10 sessions costing £70 each. So a total of £700 payment before any treatment. The 10 sessions would be spread over 3 weeks. How IDD therapy works; Lay on a bed with a harness around the pelvis, attached to the harness is the IDD machine which pulls slowly on the harness to try and create space within the spine for the herniated disc to fall back into place. After 10 sessions of IDD therapy, the results were no different compared to physiotherapy and chiropractic treatment.

I was suffering with my lower back pain since October 2019 and I was not able to walk more than 50 to 100 steps a day, I was not able to stand up or sit down for more than 10min and I was not able to help or play with my kids too. The only way for me to exist (not live) was laying down. From October 2019 to Beginning of May 2020 I had seen loads of other, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chariopracters but unfortunately all these treatments where without success so my pain from 1 to 10, (10 being higher and 1 being lower) was still 10. I was very close to have a surgery as I could not handle it anymore but then I decided to do some research on Intervertebral Differential Dynamics (IDD Treatment) which is the non-surgical spinal decompression which was the only chance for me to avoid Surgery. During my research on the website, I came across Harpenden Sportsnspinal (Dr Gillian Brown’s) practice which was offering IDD Treatment. I without hesitation contacted Dr Brown where Dr Brown was able to provide me with an online consultation and assessment. After the consultation I was very pleased with Dr Brown’s explanation and decided to proceed further with the treatment. I must say, this was my best decision I have ever made for my lower back as now I feel 100% pain free. I very, very highly recommend Dr Brown, very knowledgeable and very clam. I felt very relaxed and very well looked after! Thank you very much Dr Brown and Marilyn as my family have got their daddy back!

This is the second time I have received advice / treatment from Gillian after suffering with back pain. Initially back in 2018 I was suffering with pain and spasms in the middle of my back. After two treatment sessions, along with following an exercise plan Gillian had prepared for me, I was completely back to normal after 3 weeks. In the current lockdown, Gillian has hosted multiple zoom calls with me to assess my lower back pain and provided an at home treatment plan for me to follow. I have already seen improvements and expect this to continue over the coming weeks. It is clear Gillian really knows her stuff, she is very thorough in her assessment and has gone above and beyond to help me given the current situation. I would highly recommend her for anyone struggling with back issues.

I heard about this treatment through my osteopath and after exhausting all other options to help cure my nerve pain that at the time was unbearable and really effecting my personal and work life. I finally went to Gillian for a consultation. Gillian gave me an initial assessment to see what symptoms I had and their severity. From this I was recommended to have 10 initial treatments. The treatment itself is very relaxing and at times I dozed off. After 5 I had a considerable improvement in my mobility and pain. I then had a fall at work so required 5 more sessions after my first 10. I have now finished all 15 treatments and am now pain free, not on any pain relief and back to 90% just some rehabilitation to do now. This is something I couldn’t see happening at the start. I couldn’t recommend Gillian and the idd treatment enough. Definitely worth the time and the money for this long term fix.

I have suffered with back pain for several years caused by a disc impinging on the sciatic nerve.I was considering surgical intervention when I saw IDD advertised in What’s On in Harpenden and decided to give it a try.Gillian recommended an MRI scan to confirm the exact problem area and then suggested a course of 10 to 20 IDD sessions.I have now completed 15 sessions and am pain free.I fully recommend the treatment.

After 2 years of not being able to compete at my favourite sport, tennis, I have finally found a treatment that is getting me active again. Gillian Brown at Sportsnspinal in Harpenden recommended this brilliant method of traction using the latest technology called IDD. It's helping release the pressure on my lower back discs and the results are phenomenal. I've gone from being scared to run to competing at international level in a year. I get to lie down on the machine for 26 mins of chill time while it works its magic. Gillian also recommended a fitness training programme and pilates which complement her IDD treatments. I go once or twice per month now but at the start it was 2-3 times per week. Don't waste any further time or thought if you have a bad back. IDD and the Sportsnspinal team are great and will sort you out. No regrets here.
