I have been with Seven Dials Medical Centre for a number of years and find them excellent; the booking is easy and accommodating, the reception staff is great and the GPs have been nothing but helpful and knowledgeable. They managed Covid lockdown really well, too - leaving the whole family well-supported. My friends have so much more trouble getting appointments and appropriate care - I can't imagine going anywhere else. Dr Saddler is wonderful for women's healthcare and great as an all-round family GP, Dr Meade, Dr Torbati and Dr Corbett have always listened and got what needed to be done sorted, and the nurses are salt of the earth. Hardly any staff turnover, which is a great sign, too - you really get to know them, and vice versa.

Great place I shout at them all the time and they just take it in and give me great feedback, I love their patience. It's a tough place to get appointments because of the booking system but it's sharp and efficient.

Absolutely appalling: reception is consistently rude, condescending, useless and shows no empathy whatsoever. The doctors are poor to mediocre at best. Good luck getting refills properly sorted, or referrals – or anything whatsoever you may need. I strongly suggest you avoid this practice!

I have been with this surgery for only a few weeks and have already decided to go to a different one. I tried to explain that the medication I am currently on is making me feel suicidal and that it isn’t safe for me to be on it. Dr Sadler was unsympathetic and frankly, quite rude about the situation. Claiming that it wasn’t something he would be dealing with. And that I’d be better off talking to the mental health team. I told him that GP’s have been in charge of prescribing my medication for mental health for over 10 years. When I asked him to explain why he didn’t want to help get me off of medication that is making me suicidal, he refused to answer the question. Then said “I can do a referral to the mental health team if you want.” In a tone that would suggest he didn’t care about the outcome. I do not understand why he refused to help me and why he would be so unsympathetic towards a patient that has opened up about being suicidal. There is a patient information leaflet that comes with medication stating that if your symptoms worsen, or if you are suffering from suicidal thoughts, contact your GP. Yet when i did exactly what i was instructed to do, i was refused help. And what's worse, he didn't bother to even say/spell my name correctly and has openly told me he didn't have my notes in front of him during our appointment on the telephone. Do not waste your time with this doctor or this surgery as they are completely incompetent.

I have been using this surgery for 6 years (as of Nov 2020); much easier to make appointments now than it used to be. I've always found the staff friendly and helpful, however I do get the impression they're all just snowed under and a bit stressed. I feel they are all trying to do their best given the circumstances/capacity to treat number of patients.

Receptionist rude as anything and kept talking over me. I asked her to not as I'm autistic to which she made snide comments about and need her to slow down. Got called rude and refused treatment. Doctors are lovely but it's the military style receptionist refusing treatement. Don't expect discrimination from a receptionist and now have to put myself as risk by going to ANE

Doctors are very lovely here, had no issue with the professionalism of them. However, I have had severe anxiety ringing up to book appointments due to the unfriendliness of some of the receptionists. One receptionist actually raised her voice to me as I misunderstood what she had said. I work in customer service, so as a customer, I am friendly and understanding as I can't imagine how hard the job is! So this use of tone was unnecessary, as I wasn't even rude myself! I had just misunderstood what she had said. They need to be so careful the way they speak to patients as they have no idea who they are speaking to and what mindset that person is in. It's a shame as its location, cleanliness, doctors are really great, but this reason has lead me to switch doctors.

I am so ill and I just don't go to the doctor anymore. They are rude, patronising, and unhelpful. My partner got a different answer to me as to when I could come in, (in person), to get an appointment on the day. They don't answer the phone or make appointments in advance which is insane. They keep you waiting for ages when you do get an appointment; like just make the appointment for three not two if you want me at three! They have nearly every time sent me away to see if I still feel ill or tried to refer me to somewhere else which costs money for treatment. They've made me feel hopeless and depressed about ever getting better.

Infuriating that their phone lines are out of hours between 12-3 . I’m not even trying to get an appointment...I need to make an important enquiry (not a medical emergency) and cant talk to anyone unless I actually go to the place? How can you be out of service between these hours??? An explanation is due.

Always treated with respect, and all the doctors that I have seen have been great. Easy to book appointments. They also have automated booking service, and internet booking, and repeat prescriptions. Great secretaries too, very helpful. I would not change, for the earth. Thank you all.

I couldn’t imagine a worse doctors surgery, it’s impossible to make an appointment in advance, doctors don’t listen to you, no easy way to collect repeat prescriptions. Twice this year they missed serious medicinal conditions of mine, once an infection, and once a condition for which I was told to ‘go home and stay in bed, and no you don’t need to phone an ambulance’, which left me literally minutes from death when I eventually did phone an ambulance. The receptionist are quite nice however, and they have an absolutely wonderful nurse. Probably still don’t entrust your health to this surgery though.

I suffer from insomnia; after three days with no sleep made an appointment to see Dr Ahmed. After explaining that I had suffered from hallucinations due to my most recent bout of insomnia, Dr Ahmed advised me to refer myself for CBT. He got up the referral page on his screen (that he should use to refer patients) and told me to take a picture of it and refer myself, using the URL from his screen. He then prescribed me with a sleeping aid. When I arrived at Boots to pick it up, the pharmasis shook his head and told me that Drs should not be prescribing this because it's an "over the counter" aid and only cost £2.99 (not the £9 a prescription costs). This should be ILLEGAL! In all, the Drs (Dr Ahmed and Dr Torbatti especially) are rude, patronising and totally uncaring. I have never had a positive experience with the Drs at this surgery (nurse who takes blood is lovely). Worst surgery in Brighton. Register elsewhere, reviews speak for themselves!

What a chaos! Tried to book an appointment for a private vaccination 3 times and each person told me a different price, when I finally managed to book it, took time off work and showed up in the morning they said they ran out of the vaccination I was booked for, even though the person who booked it said she checked and will put one aside for me. Good job I haven't transferred to this practice, completely useless.

Not great, did not listen to anything I said. The place is strange too, it's scruffy and always empty. I do not feel confident that my Health problems will be sorted out here.
