Very reasonable, friendly and efficient. Went in to have some bodywork fixed - was about 1/3rd the price of another coachworks. They also fixed some minor issues around the car with no fuss. Even buffed out some scratches/dings I didn’t mention, which is a nice bonus! Obviously not my experience as well, but they were extremely accommodating to an older chap while I was waiting, so that’s a plus too. Would recommend.

They probably aren't the best, but they certainly aren't the worst. Friendly and flexible staff. If you are local, definitely worth trying out. Their prices are average, which you would expect from a proper, but small garage, offering a full list of services, and advice.

Have been here for MOT a couple of times and always been very happy with the service. For my car's full service, I falsely believed in the past that it made sense to get it done at the BMW dealer/garage where we originally bought it. After an absolutely terrible experience at that BMW place last year, where they returned the car with flat tyres, I decided to try Croxted Motors this year for the full service and was very pleased. Far less hassle than getting the car down to Croydon, really friendly and polite staff, an appointment within days of calling up, a fast turnaround and all at a fraction of the cost of the BMW place. Always a pleasure to deal with everyone at Croxted Motors and am happily recommending to friends and neighbours.

Put my Golf if for a minor repair and got it back with some peculiar marks and a dent on the rear bumper. When questioned about the damage that wasn't there when I dropped it off they claimed no knowledge of how it had happened.Clearly some moron had reversed my car into something and took no responsibility for it.Needless to say I will never be going back there again and my advise to everyone else is find a more responsible garage to carry out your needs it will be safer than leaving your car with these cowboys!

I'm ticking one start because I have to in-order to make a review. I went to the garage for my MOT. They told me I had numerous serious faults with the car which were untrue costing over £500 (and that was a rough quote). I happen to have knowledge of cars, my cars history etc.. So I wasn’t impressed at all. I went to another garage and the only thing that needed changing was a front light bulb and the front windscreen wiper!! I’m speechless.

The only good reviews of this garage are for the petroleum station!! Croxted motors should be called CROOKED Motors. Old school Arthur Daily (rip off.) garage with questionable knowledge and skills. Avoid like the plague.

Have been using this garage for over 5 years now, as a woman I used to find going into garages very intimidating but Croxted Motors always make me feel very comfortable and they are trustworthy. They are up front on the costs and the prices are competitive. I recommend them to all my friends and family.

Terrible experience with them had a damaged sump which damaged the gear box of my skoda. Took it to Croxted motors and when I picked it up the gear box clearly had not been fixed. They did some more work on it, then took the car for a trip to France and gear box started to make a noise. Mechanic in France told me that it was not fixed correctly and needed new parts. Croxted despite giving providing a 5 year guarantee on the works and parts just fobbed me off and told me to take it up with the people who they got to do the works. The person they got persistently lied on the phone and even denied doing any works on the car. Had to cut my losses and payout for someone else to fix the gear box.

I filled my car up on the 17th April 2018 and the fuel was contaminated, the result is my new truck is off the road, I'm facing a lengthy period without my vehicle and have to claim for the subsequent repairs needed. to the fuel system & engine. I've been advised it may even need a new engine. Please be aware that on that day, the pump was very slow indeed, and I can only assume it was because it was trying to pump out dirty contaminated fuel. However the garage gladly gave me their insurance details. Liverpool Victoria - Lets hope they deal with the claim quickly & efficiently. Oliver Sansom

This is the best garage I have come across for over 20 years. Extremely friendly, helpful and practical, I have found their service is fantastic. They don't seem to try to create extra work as some garages do, but give you a straightforward, helpful, thorough and honest approach to fixing your car. I thoroughly recommend them - and this is the first time I can recall writing any recommendations on the internet, let alone a glowing one like this.

After we filled up our car (diesel)at Croxted Motors / Texaco garage at 12.48 on 22/04/2018, our automatic car stalled 4 times in a 2.5 miles drive home - Our car has never stalled before. We took our car in to our local garage the next day and they found the fuel filled in Croxted Motors / Texaco was contaminated / very old dirty fuel and contained water. We had to have our fuel tank cleaned and had a new fuel filter fitted. When we reported this to Croxted Motors / Texaco garage, the manager told us no one has reported any similar problems to them. They are obviously lying after seeing another google user Ben Sansom's review posted 10 hours ago. The pump was also very slow and making loud noise when we were filling our car. We have reported this resolver.co.uk and we will report Croxted Motors to the trading standard and even take them to small claim court if our issue is not resolved.

Rip off do not go here! I recently had an MOT and headlight fitted. After one hour the headlight stopped working, which was down to them connecting the cables poorly. The MOT passed but they seemed to have damage my brakes. Moments after leaving the garage ,I noticed a strange noise when breaking my car which was not apparent before. Absolute terrible service and very expensive.

NON-EXISTENT LABOUR / WORK CHARGED FOR: The car failed on a drop link and a mirror indicator not working. I knew the mirror indicator wasn't working as someone had kicked the power fold mirror meaning that when the ignition was turned on, it folded all the way out to point it was facing the nearside kerb. However, I didn't know that this was an MOT fail, and so I unplugged the mirror by taking off the door card, and quite literally, unplugging the wire loom. This is a job that took me approximately 8-10 minutes, including the time it takes to put the door card back on. The car was ready to collect. Mitch, the manager, told me that the indicator was "fixed" and working perfectly. I was quoted 35 for the MOT and 50 for the drop link with labour, so you can imagine my surprise when I found a total of around £170 at the bottom of the invoice. It said that the mirror had been attended to, and that some re-wiring had been done to the wire loom. I got into the car, turned the ignition, and watched on in horror as my mirror folded out until it faced completely away from the car. It then dawned on me that the "mechanic" had simply plugged the wire loom back in and charged a small fortune to do so, breaking two clips on the door card in the process. I got home and removed the door card to inspect the “re-wiring work,” and it was instantly clear to me that no re-wiring had been done to the loom. I also removed the cover to the mirror itself and it was obvious that no work had been done on any of the wiring inside the door card or the mirror. I knew this because I had spent a long time looking at the wiring after the mirror was damaged in the first place and had taken photos of it that I shared with forum users in an attempt to find a way to fix the mirror. I went back to Croxted the following day and asked what attention was given to the mirror. I was told the wiring loom had been "completely stripped down," "re-wired," and "soldered." I simply replied, "none of that has been done." The man on the counter looked at me blankly and said I would need to speak to the manager. I called Mitch (manager) the following day and asked what had been done to the mirror, and in almost rehearsed fashion, he uttered the words "stripped down" and "re-wired." When I explained how and why this was simply not true, Mitch constantly took the conversation 'off piste', and time and time again, I had to return to the bare facts - that either he, or his mechanics, were not telling the truth. I was, by now, starting to get a little annoyed. He then told me that the wire loom was "hanging on the floor." This claim blew me away, as if the wire was indeed dragging on the floor, it would have successfully defied the laws of physics. This is because the wire he referred to is all of 8" long, and runs from the wing mirror itself. I found myself repeating myself over and over while he took an extremely defensive tone. The work listed on the invoice had not been done. It was non-existent. It was, for the want of a better word, a lie. I was offered a £30 refund. I accepted this offer over the phone simply through exasperation with the situation, but on reflection, I should have had all of the money that I paid for the mirror to be "fixed," back. The indicator light did indeed work, but the mirror was rendered completely useless in the process. I now question the legitimacy of the work carried out to replace the drop link. Did this work need doing at all? This is now impossible to tell. Was this work done at all? Without getting the car inspected, I will never know. In summary, this is a garage that should be avoided at all costs. I would suggest that honesty is the most important characteristic to look for when choosing a mechanic to leave your car with. The people that I have dealt with at Croxted Motors have shown themselves to be wholly untrustworthy. This leaves me wondering just how many trusting people have been fleeced out of their hard earned income by Croxted Motors, the vast majority of whom would drive away blissfully unaware.

I normally buy my fuel at Croxted motors as they are a local business. The last time I purchased fuel was June 22nd 2018. I was in the M20 London bound on June 29, 2018 after my last purchase from the petrol station and my 8 months old car (Audi Q7 2017 plate) Automatically slowed down and came to a coughing halt which almost resulted in a collision. Because my car is within warranty I thought I'd I recover the car to the nearest Audi dealers in Bexley as I didn't know what the problem was. I thought it was maybe a fault somewhere. They examined my car and they took a fuel sample and then reported back that it was due to fuel contamination. My car will cost me £3500 plus VAT to fix and my insurance doesn’t even cover this. I went and I spoke to Croxted Motors yesterday morning July 10th 2018 and they admitted they had a problem and it’s all been sorted in April and they’ve got a certificate to say so because then they wouldn’t be able to be in business. Today I went to speak to who I believe is the owner the father of who I spoke to yesterday and he is telling me a completely different thing now. Its my belief that they know something is wrong or they cant believe this is happening again as both of who I spoke to yesterday and today are asking me take my 2017 Audi Q7 off the ramp in the dealers to take it to their garage!... This would invalidate any warranty I have on the vehicle, moreover the dealers don't want it to be removed as its a finance car from their own finance company. I am driving a courtesy car from the dealers thats already been infected with this contaminated diesel as before the dealers broke the news to me I had filled up there too!... So they ordered me to bring a that car in to test the diesel. So they have taken a sample and they will let me know by the end of the day if it’s pure diesel or water down diesel in the courtesy car I am driving now. I am so disgusted by this because Croxted Motors/Petrol Station are people I have grown to know and trust because I do take my company van there to be serviced every year and I do buy my diesel from there every time I need fuel so for this to happen again in June then it only means that it’s an ongoing situation because some of the posts that I have seen on the East Dulwich Forum are from people back in April and I only bought my diesel on 22 June 2018. I really can’t bring myself to pay for this out of my pocket right now but I’ve been advised from members of the Herne Hill forum that it’s best to contact Southwark trading standards agency about this. It’s very funny because I am a very good reader of body language and when I was speaking to him he was a bit jittery almost as if he was on the edge only hearing about this yet again from one of his most valued customers. This is just making me think is it them or is it Texaco? But whoever is someone liable and responsible. My intention here is not to slander but to bring the situation to light and raise awareness as maybe others are affected and don't even know it. Luckily I know where I shop.

GO ELSEWHERE! Picked up the car after our MOT and found that it had a dent in the drivers door. Someone at the garage had clearly opened our door firmly into a wall or other hard object. The people at the garage denied that they had done this. There was also grease smeared on the boot of our car. I have realised that others have left reviews of similar experiences and wish I had seen them before booking our car in.

Don't put your self or family at risk!!!!! The worst place in London to take your car, very unprofessional. I took the car for clutch problems they told me that the clutch needs replacing so I did. One week later the car broke down because of the clutch, then got it fixed and had to pay again including the recovery. And one month later the clutch broke again. All this 3 occasions they did see faults but didn't bother to rectify or inform me . Now the car is fine about the clutch but they scratch it and also left me a problem with the brakes.

MOT's are always a gamble in any garage but this lot certainly know how to cash in on them.My car was thoroughly checked over prior to putting it in at this MOT centre and the list of failures was not only questionable but absolutely rediculous, the vehicle has since been retested elsewhere with no work being done to it what so ever.Draw your own conclusions from that. I will never use these conmen ever again.

I have lived in the area for 10 years - the long and short is - if you get the original owner Mitch you will get a good price and really great service but if you get the son in law TJ your price will be inflated heavily. So beware.

I admit I was a fool to go back to them, treating earlier mistake as a one-off, but they soon put me right. First one was an MOT where they did not screw the spark plugs all the way home. Engine died in a service area off the M1. Could have been very bad if we had broken down on the M1 itself. Manager at Croxted brushed it off. Anyway, long story short, when in a hurry went there for another MOT, and this time they put in the wrong spec of plug which cause persistent problems but not enough to cause the car to stop. They also failed to call me when I specifically said to call me if any part of the job was going to be particularly expensive. Result? bill just shy of £600 and they hadn't replaced the door studs, so the inside door panels hung loose. Had to do that myself. The people here giving them 5 stars are obviously plants (in every sense).

I must confess I have used this garage before (9 months ago) and their attitude at that time was relatively ok.This time however I used them for a vehicle service and I must admit that in nine months this garage has clearly gone down the toilet, bad manners, questionable workmanship and the prices have gone through the roof. When questioned about the air filter box not being properly put back on my car their response was not only patronising but ill mannered.I will certainly not be using them again, there are far better garages in the Herne Hill area and more deserving of anybodys custom than these take the money and run merchants!

Took the car to them for major repair. Quoted £1500 ended up£ 2K. They gave me the car back with a major cooling system leak. 5 months, and less than 500 miles later I took it to them ofor MOT only to be told it cannot pass because... and follows a long list of expensive repairs. The problem is that all these faults where present when they undertook the original repair, yet they had assured me the car was roadworthy. I suppose they did not do any other check than observe the warning indicators. When I asked to collect the car to take it elsewhere they "forgot" to leave it out as we had agreed.

Vert shoddy repair works and a very imaginative pricing policy. What they quote is most definitely not what you pay on completion of the work.I do not like being taken advantage of and I will not be recommending this garage to any of my friends or family!

Dropped my car off for the MOT knowing full well it should have sailed through it with no problems, I was surprised to see a list of failures as long as my arm when I came to collect it, needless to say I disagreed totally in their findings and since then I have had the vehicle retested elsewhere, and there you go, no additional works done to the vehicle and passed with NO problems or advisories what so ever.Draw your own conclusions from this, but it is clear to me that these people are deliberately failing vehicles to aquire additional unjustified works, a sure sign this garage is failing and resorting to dodgy practices to drum up trade. You have been warned!

I'm perplexed at the pricing policy of this garage, the final bill for the relatively minor repairs to my car was far above the original quote, when questioned about the dramatic increase I was met with a deluge of insults and told of my lack of knowledge relating to mechanics .Needless to say they will not be working on my car in any forseable future.Very dodgy outfit!
