Came here to play some dnd with friends. Great price for use of location at only £1 per person. Food we tried was delicious and coffee drinks were yummy as well! Very friendly staff who also came by to clear plates. Can't wait to come back to try the endless amounts of games they have available for use!

A cracking place to try out some board games you've heard about but don't want to pay £50 & realise you don't like it. A brilliant way to spend an afternoon in Nottingham. Eat, Drink & roll some dice.

This is an awesome place to go if you love board games! They have a sweet comics shop in-store and an excellent section dedicated to trading card games (I try and go here every time a new Magic set is out), along with a wide range of board games to play and reasonably priced vegan food. I have had excellent experiences with the staff who have always been kind and helpful, and patient as I try and navigate areas of nerddom that I haven't been in before. I can't recommend this place enough.

I went to collect some keys for a local Airbnb from here as they are the designated pickup point for the keys. I arrived at 10:15pm on a Thursday, to find out that they had closed early, I informed the Airbnb owner and they very luckily had a spare apartment for me to stay in as I had travelled for over 2 hours to get to Nottingham. I went back to The Dice Cup the next day to collect the keys for the original apartment I was staying in for a few days and asked them what time they closed the previous day, to which they said "11pm", I told them what had happened and that I arrived at 10:15pm, to which they effectively called me a liar and said they closed shop at 11pm. Rude staff, and just an all round weird management plan. Wouldn't recommend, unfortunately the place looks awesome bar the staff.

Lovely staff and lots of tables though it's still worth booking. The game selection is good though not quite as large as other places. Nice to be able to eat anything on the menu as a vegetarian though.

The collection of games here are immense! The vegan cakes from Clemie's are also top notch. Staff are friendly and lovely too.

The woman we spoke to was helpful, but the venue itself is a bit run down. Value for play time is good, believe it was £5 to play from 8-11. Can't complain at that

This place is amazing, staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely. Only thing that keeps me from rating 5 stars is the temperature, its pretty cold in there but I appreciate that this isn't an easy fix.

Great atmosphere and friendly people willing to lend you a deck to play magic the gathering, just ask. Play your own games any day for a £1 or rent from a huge catalogue of board-games for £5 per person for all-day play and one of the staff will help you learn how to play it quickly. On Thursdays the games rental is only £1 per person! Wheelchair accessible toilets and good choice of vegan food and drinks, cakes and snacks. Sells a wide selection of cards, games, dice, comics, role-playing and game paraphernalia.

Nice enough, lots of choices of boardgames that can be hired, nicely presented when you enter the premises. Nice guy running the place. However it was a hot summer evening when I visited and although they had lots of fans on it was stifling. It's also a venue when something isn't quite right; something is missing but I couldn't put my finger on what it was. Worth a visit though

Amazing idea for a cafe if your into gaming this is the perfect cafe for you, drink your coffee ect, and eat a lovely slice of cake while playing games, not into games myself but the atmosphere is very calming as players at the cafe go head to head to challenge each other and multiple players depending on what games you want to play or, be a spectator watching these people concentrate on ways to win the games that they are playing, I found it by accident while sheltering from the rain, parking near by if you drive, take a look for yourself, staff very friendly indeed so if your up for a challenge or just want some refreshments give a go you won't be disappointed.

Great idea! Quite a lot of space and tables, you can either BYO board games, or play from their collection. Hot drinks are good and there's a selection of non-dairy milks, as well as gluten-free and vegan snack options.

Great place for table top gaming, welcoming, nice snacks and tea, pretty sure they're all vegan. Good selection of modern board games. Comfy couch area, large area for gaming. It gets a bit warm in there because it has lots of windows. Good comic selection. My husband got very sweaty on the wall from the car park to the shop: Bonus Star! Would recommend a towel.

A brilliant board game cafe in the centre of Nottingham, run by game enthusiasts. Perfect place to meet, relax and have a game or two. Great for families wanting to try out some new games. They have a well stocked games library, plus you can buy games and comics here as well, and they have a really good selection :) Another stroke of genius is that the cafe is vegan with a range of tasty snacks including cakes and cupcake - yum! Recommended!

A friendly café with staff who clearly love boardgames as much as the customers do. The place is usually bustling, and it's a great spot to while away an afternoon with some food, drinks and a good game. They also sell a wide variety of board games, card games, ttrpg books and have a noticeboard for advertising local groups. The food and drink is standard café fare, but the atmosphere, games, people and community events are stellar.

Been to many board game Cafe's in Nottingham and this is by far up there with my favourites. It may not be as nice and sleek as some others but the staff are amazing! The price can not be beaten and there is plenty of space! My only issue is the bathrooms they weren't the cleanest, but I will be returning here.

Brilliant place to visit if you enjoy board games. Staff were super friendly, food was good, coffee was top-notch (maybe a little pricey, but I'll let it slide on account of the overall experience) and to top it off: just £1 per seat when bringing your own games, for the whole day. Definitely coming back soon!

Do you like board games, or deck building games? If yes, then this is the place for you. With hundreds of games to choose from you're never short of finding something you'll enjoy. The staff are helpful and friendly, atmosphere is comfortable and it is only a short walk from the town centre. Food and drinks are served here. No alcohol, which is fine as children can be present with family, and the food is all vegetarian/vegan friendly. It is £4 to play any game you want and are welcome to stay for as long as you like. They regularly post to the Facebook page about upcoming events, and when they have new stock available for purchase. My only critique is to move where there games are stored. Keep them away from the harmful UV coming through the windows, and store them vertically in order for the boxes to last longer.
