Plenty of fun to have with the kids, even in cooler weather the walk will surely heat you up, plenty to see also.

Well kept zoo with a lot to see and learn. There's great play area for the kids, picnic tables, cafe. Perfect place for day out.

Went for a great family day out today good variety but deffinantly missing animals such as rhinos and hippos a play park which is extremely modern and they have a bouncy castle - the pyotographer at the entrance/exit is pretty annoying. Very hilly - feet sore at the end - bring your walking shoes. With 2 prams it was hard enough but with children upto 8 in them it was hard up and down hills - reasonably priced and nice staff. Wkuld go again anytime.

Quite a hill to climb but great layout, as you almost have to hunt out some of the amazing animals on display. Great views of Cavehill and Belfast port too!

Very hilly .. lot of the animals weren't out so missed quite a few ...loved getting closer to Giraffes as my favourite. ....only disappointment was cafe at top shut and cafe at bottom had very limited food available no sandwiches etc...so left earlier than intended as hungry

It was my first time at the zoo, There is plenty to see, children and adults of all ages will be entertained. The terrain is multi level, expect a bit of hill walking. I had a great day at the historic zoo.

The zoo has some lovely walks, nice animal enclosures (where the animal are obviously well looked after, and have plenty of room too move), good parking, good places to eat and a decent souvenir shop. The downsides to this zoo is the obvious steep paths to walk up, but these are things that aren't normally am issue, but they are when you're getting swamped by wasps every time you stop. This was the big let down to Belfast zoo, especially as they say they do things to control the pesky buggers, but yet they're at you when you stop, at the top of the hill restaurant or even at the penguins. That being said, the play park they have there is top quality, and it's so easy to get to Belfast zoo, and it's a decent price.

Amazing even in the rain! Animals seemed extremely well looked after. Be cautious as it's all steep uphill

My family thoroughly enjoyed our visit. There's lots to see and it's easy to navigate. We loved having our picture taken in front of the green screen and the staff were very friendly.

Good zoo with good, varied selection of animals. The layout is well done; be aware if you have people with any kind of restricted mobility issues the zoo is essentially sprawled along a hillside area, so there is quite a steep incline, especially if you don't plan what you want to see & have to backtrack a lot! We were lucky enough to bump into the lion keeper who was delighted to tell the kids (& the adults!) all about their habits & origins. Definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic day out! Loads to see. Great way to keep healthy with the amount of walking around you do. Downside was the restaurant near the start of the zoo was shut at 4pm. The other café at the top of the zoo was busy.

We chose a good day to go, there weren't many other people about and we got to see all the animals. The zoo hasn't changed in all the time I've visited over the last 30 years. They are starting to make changes now so hopefully this will make things better, wear your walking shoes, it's a very steep walk!!

I wasn't expecting such a great zoo. We had a blast. They have really exciting animals I had never seen before. We went on a Saturday and there weren't that many people which was great. It was full enough but not too full to bump into people when looking at animals. We went to as many talks and feeding as possible. All the staff seems to care about the well being of the animals and are happy to answer questions from kids and adults. The tea top cafe has amazing views and either restaurants are not very expensive. £8.95 for a burger and fries at the lion's den restaurant and it was a good burger. Only downside is that it's on a massive hill but the silver lining to that is that you get great views of the city.

Good day out... good selection of animals... but and BIG BUT... its seriously hilly... and there aren't a lot of restrooms for little ones about place... unless I'm mistaken the toilets are back at the entrance or cafe... Cafe was poor too... and inflated charges... but the zoo elements are good if you can handle the the mountain climbing with a stroller... lol
