Nice, but like every zoo you feel a lot of sympathy towards the animals. Some of them look really sad. Was also concerned as the “zookeepers” when they looked at the bear enclosure said “where are they?”. There was also peacocks and some other animals on the loose but you were never in danger.

The most reasonably priced zoo that I've been too. A large selection of animals but possibly let down in the way current animals are advertised. A lot of works going on on this visit so most birds enclosures were not on display. This added to some inconsistencies in signage for animal exhibits, there are no tigers currently. Understanding that at a zoo you may not see all animals is fine though most windows tend to have awkward reflections that make it very hard to see the animals if there are obvious, added to some displays having thorn bushes in front of them. The keepers are definitely what is a real highlight, getting an insight into the relationship they have with the animals and how they behave was fancinating. A good day out and really serving the purpose of displaying the challenges animals face and what we need to do to stop increasing the risks.

Lovely to see the local Zoo get re-vamped. Great parking, plenty of toilets (although these could do with being cleaned more regularly). Plenty of food with the introduction of a new cafe The Lion's Den (although for a business marketed at Children it would be wise to look at your allergy options and make the information a bit clearer for customers) highlight had to be the new park!! And talks with the zoo keepers.

Really good value and lots to see. They've done a great job with the one way system ensuring you can get round the zoo without missing anything. Numbers are restricted so it doesn't feel overcrowded. It's a good workout too!

It was a bit of miserable day so we weren't sure what to expect, but it was actually the most active we've seen some of the animals. The Giraffes were actually chasing the ostriches which was hilarious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a nice meal in the cafe afterwards.

Had a great time here yesterday. It's a small-scale zoo but packs in alot with the space it has. Would recommend for anyone looking for a nice few hours to kill.

Belfast zoo seems to gets poorer every time I go. I love animals but it's difficult to see them through the often dirty glass windows. Missed out on the tigers due to covid & the elephant house was closed. Nice walk up the mountain with some lovely animals. Not a very thrilling or interactive zoo.

Not a big zoo.. not worth the money. Go there if you haven't seen any exotic animals in your life.

On busy days ie Easter etc you can book online the day BEFORE your visit but not on the day of your visit . If you visit the zoo more than twice a year a zoo membership is worth buying and it also is valid for some zoos in Scotland and England

Really enjoy going to belfast zoo, thoroughly enjoy seeing all the animals and spending some family time together outside. Lovely zoo keepers always happy to have a chat. Favourite attraction was the bear!

Due to Covid restrictions we had to pre book our tickets. This ensured the Zoo was very quiet, with few other visitors. You didn't feel crowded at any of the enclosures and could take your time. I wouldn't recommend taking very young children as the one way system in place is almost entirely up hill (except for the lion enclosure on the way out). It is steep and even with push chairs can be challenging, also some of the viewing barriers are not suitable for children unless you hold them up to see the animals. Fun day out, with a fantastic playground too and decent value for money.

Nice place to hangout with family. You would get to see giraffes, Zebras, ostrich, peacocks, limurs, different monkey species, sea lions, penguins, different beautiful birds, capybara, elephant, etc. Clean and green place with pleasant atmosphere

Lovely zoo to walk around though very hilly. A reasonable selection of animals. Would be nice if they brought back the polar bears.

Such a beautiful place. The animals were all eating while we were there. It was great for the kids and the views of the country side are breathtaking.

Great day our and with less people allowed in now to ensure social distancing we enjoyed it more than previous visits. Easier to see the animals without people trying to push past

Some of the enclosures are a bit depressing and the animals look a bit neglected but then others have been upgraded and look good. A nice day out for the kids in all of us but give yourself plenty of time, there's a lot of walking and a lot of uphill trekking. You'd need more than 2 hrs, it's really hard to find your way around and in my opinion could do with signposts everywhere as maps are hard to follow there's a lot of hidden nooks and crannies and easy to miss stuff!

Very friendly place and kept very well but unfortunately it can't hold a candle to the vastly superior Dublin Zoo. Certainly in need of some serious investment !

The best Zoo I've visited! All the different animals are so happy looking and very friendly (but obviously - wild)! All enclosures are very spacious and exceptionally clean. The zoo is clearly catering very well for all the various animals. The zookeepers are very friendly and informative. The zoo is situated on a mountain, so be prepared for a good hike. However, there is no shortage of rest stops with picnic benches and shelter. If you're a lover of animals, this is a must place to visit.

Nice and clean place but some of the animal enclosures could do with a bit of TLC, most of the animals were not out and the bird enclosures were over run by pigeons & seagulls

I have mixed feelings about the zoo. I like to see the animals but hate that they are in prison. Ethics aside, they do seem well cared for. The zoo is located on a hill so the route can be steep and the walk would not suit everyone. The is a cafe at the top and on the way out and there are several spots where you can stop for a picnic. It's expensive with an adult ticket costin £13. Free audio tours are available.

First of all it must be said if you get the bus here be prepared for a good five min walk up a steep hill, this would not be good for prams of wheelchairs, get a cab here or drive if you're a keen walker, infact the zoo itself is a hill so get your comfy walking shoes on people! Enclosures were spread out, the signage and maps were often wrong or misleading and some animals that they stated did not exist in the zoo anymore. The cafe here was very limited menu wise, and unless you're having chips vegetarian and vegan optipns very limited, was not impressed by the food here at all. Plenty of animals to see however so don't let this put you off

Had a great family day out, some parts needing attention and not all animals out. Great park for kids. Entrance staff and entrance tea room staff very friendly. However, cafe at the top of the park on hill was filthy and staff need to be trained in hygiene regards to touching face and hair then cups and food. Overall cafe was so bad we decided to not eat in it. This was disappointing as the rest of the zoo was a great day out.

One of the best place to visit in Belfast. Closer to the Belfast castle. Awesome location.. Looks like the real jungle than a zoo. Kids would love the place and variety of animals.

I was not happy going to this zoo it has seriously fallen since i was a child enclosures are to small. There must of been at least 12 giraffe shoved into one small Enclosure not good enough. Not to mention admission price is dear and most of the animals were not present as we walked around there were signs saying enclosures where under repair and so the animals had been taken in etc lions were in elephants and giraffes were in sun bear was pregnant so was in. Thats fine just dont charge full price if that is the case. Its a shame because it sits on cave hill in beautiful part of belfast!! Animals need better enclosures!!

Great walks in the adjacent Cavehill Country Park but the future of the zoo itself really has to be considered. It remains popular with children but no matter how much money is spent here it will never be a world class zoo.
