I had ordered a cycle carrier for my car, and had paid for a fitting. Good job, as the model I ordered didn’t fit my car properly. Sean and Brian were both very helpful, sorting out a model which did fit safely, and taking time to show me how to do the same myself. Very impressive. Thanks guys!

Very friendly service, I needed some new windscreen wipers and some dust caps. I couldn't find the dust caps I wanted as they has some very fancy looking ones but I wanted the bog standard. Staff were very happy to help and they fitted my wipers for £5 which I was happy to pay as it saves me faffing trying to workout how they clip on. I had interactions with 5 members of staff in total and each one was knowledgeable and nice.

Very impressed with Halfords own brand camera system, installed front and rear. When there was an installation issue they dealt with it swiftly and upgraded the camera at no extra cost. Excellent customer service. :)

Recently purchased a bike that was not the right size for me. I took the bike back and had a replacement ordered. The service was friendly and the knowledgable staff attended to my concerns and the replacement order made swiftly. All things sold here to keep your car or cycle in tip top condition. On my visit I didn't find the staff very helpful when I was asking questions about a double cycle trailor. The shop is in a large shopping complex along with shops such as Next and Matalan and eats places such as Costa and McDonald's. The complex does need some toilets as I'm sure McDonald's are fed up with toilet visitors

What a fabulous service I have received from Sam P at Halfords in Chilwell today. He demonstrated fitting a bike rack dealt with some issues with the bike rack itself and I drove away happy and confident that I can do it myself. I wont hesitate to recommend them and sing there praises, will certainly be happy to use there services again. Thank you so so much

I had a very pleasant experience this morning. My passenger side indicator bulb had blown. Went straight down to Halfords , didn’t have to wait was seen to straight away. Brian was very efficient and Rachel on the till was lovely.

After disappointing service and purchase at the Melton Mowbray branch I ventured further afield to Chilwell Nottingham store, so glad I did. Phillip in the cycle department was knowledgeable and actually cared and genuinely happy to resolve my cycle issue, his work ethos attitude and ethics made me happy and I shall certainly be returning to this branch again. Great store great service and a nice helpful positive can do attitude, really recommend and my faith in Halfords stores has been restored. Many thanks

Needed a dimmer bulb. Purchased and fitted at Halfords Chilwell. Bulbs came as a pair so had two fitted and kept the good one that was removed. Process took circa 30 minutes - as expected - with fitting cost of £8/bulb plus £15 on the upsell to oil/tyre pressure/water levels etc. A shade over £45 in total. Perhaps looks pricey in isolation and could certainly have purchased the bulbs online significantly cheaper. However, taking into consideration the fact the bulbs would have required delivery and the slight delay that would have created, plus the time I would have had to put to one side to do the fittings and checks myself, I am happy with the cost, time and manner in which Halfords Chilwell conducted the work. Allowed me to wander around aimlessly for 30 minutes whilst enjoying my Costa. A rare treat so thanks guys!

Booked a slot to have car battery fitted, the staff were on time very friendly and informative, they also checked lights, oil etc at no extra cost and let me know if these were within acceptable limits.
Staff were very friendly and made efforts for me to feel welcome while I waited.
The whole process ran very smoothly and I'm happy with the end result, I would definately recommend.

Bad advice given by management called kieron. Told me to cancel order amd reorder. I have done this and reapplied for credit on a bike only to be refused. 2 hard searches on my score. Now manager won't help, all he's done is call the police as I raised my voice.

Went in to get a break light bulb, asked a colleague and bought the ones suggested, they didn’t fit my car and when I returned for a refund the person advised that Halfords don’t do the break lights on my car as they are led, would have been more helpful to have been told that in the first place

Why did I give an "Average" score? This is due to blending Customer service, product range/ choice and pricing. What lets the store down badly is selection & pricing.... and I accept it is a spectacularly difficult balance to achieve.
Halfords is not cheap. And obviously, due to limited shop space, they have to choose what to stock.... which in some cases is not alot.
If you shop for some of the products online (I was after led lights), they are much cheaper. And you have a wider variety. So if there is no urgency (you are willing to wait a day or two for delivery), there may be better options out there.
But if you love browsing shelves, physically examining stuff before buying, I would recommend it.

I rarely go to Halfords but my wife wanted me to have a full set of wheel trims on my French-registered, left wheel drive Peugeot 307 HDI Estate.
She researched the internet, we phoned Euro Car Parts who wouldn't fit, tried Kwikfit then went to the local Halfords. The service was surprisingly excellent with a young, personable member of staff fitting the trims for me and putting ties on all the wheels for £22. We had a great chat as he performed this service in the car park and gave me the box to save the 3 remaining, old wheel trims as spares. The value was better than normal....being competitive & the service first class which is what a 72 year old needed. It was all done and dusted within 30 minutes. Halfords has gone up in my pecking list given this experience.

Cancelled a click and collect order in store and took them a month to refund me. Also generally disappointed by Halfords products and Halfords own brands (Boardman etc..) Customer service both in store and over the phone is terrible and majorly understaffed. That's it im never using them again even if it's last resort.

Fantastic customer service, demo of car seat fitting so thorough and then safety checked when you are watched fitting it into your own car. I wish I could remember the man's name who helped me because he was amazing and made me feel very comfortable, confident in his knowledge and cared for.
