Car Store Coventry

They don't respond to emails once the sale has been completed. I purchased a car and took it to get a quick check over at a local garage... the car has had numerous body work repairs and the side scoop inner arch trim hasn't been re-attached correctly and is hanging off... this damage / body repairs to the vehicle should of been disclosed at the time of purchase! The two front tyres also only have 1000 miles left in them, so its pretty naughty and sneaky of them. Car also came with no matts.

Absolutely fantastic service. I arranged a test drive just to test the water, fell in love with the car and made a purchase the same day. Everything went great through the sale of the car during lockdown and everything was dealt with over the phone and email, until they finalized the sale and had the money and the car was dropped off at my address. As soon as the guy dropped the car off I noticed a couple of dents and then I took the car for a drive and noticed there was a noise coming from the rear of the car, so I phoned Car Store Coventry and to be fair they sorted out the dents pretty well, the guy came out and did them outside my house and I was advised to take it to my local Evans Halshaw for the noise to be investigated. This is where all the trouble began my local Evans Halshaw found the problem and showed me that the two rear tyres had a step in them causing the noise plus both tyres were punctured. After very many phone calls and fob offs trying to speak to the right person at Coventry they told me that they would not authorise the work to be done as my local branch were charging to much for the tyres so I would have to bring it to the Coventry branch so I couldn't use the car for a week and a 2nd day of unpaid holiday to take the car to Coventry. Once I was there I had to wait three hours just sitting there for them to do two tyres as the said they only have one ramp and we didn't know I was going to wait for the work to be done but as I had to drive a hour there and the car was booked in at 10.00 and they knew I was going to wait as discussed on the phone they just fobbed me off again. Then after three hours of waiting the mechanic came to me and said we have changed the tyres but their tracking machine is out so I advise you to go to your nearest tyre place and have it done there and send the bill to us, but the only thing about sitting there for three hours was seeing other people phoning up and seeing how they was being fobbed off with excuses like he's busy with another customer even when they are sitting over the other side of the room with nobody there or they are not in today we will get them to ring you back tomorrow, knowing they are not going to phone you back and knowing they are not in the next day. It is easier to get hold of Boris Johnson than it is to get hold of them I just hope I haven't got to deal with them again about any problems with the car because I definitely will not be buying from them again so please beware of this company. It has been the worst experience of a garage I have ever dealt with.

Good but will try and make you pay more so make sure you haggle them down. I wouldn't budge and got offered lots of free extras with my car and got them to reduce the price, every little helps!

Avoid this company. I was lured in by the fact that they are a part of the Evan Halshaw Group but never again. I saw a car I wanted to buy on their website advertised as being in the Coventry store. I called up the Coventry store next morning to enquire and ended up going for the car. I was then told that the car had been moved to the Exeter branch and would need to be returned. I was slightly annoyed by this as i was wanting to travel down to coventry the same day to get the car. I was told by the end of the week I should have my car. I asked if the car could come straight from coventry to my address and was told no. But when I spoke to someone at the Exeter branch I was told this was possible, so I went back to my contact at coventry and he seemed confused? To this day I still don't understand why the car could not have just come straight from Exeter to me instead of going back to coventry?? Despite no one really knowing what was going on or having any sense of urgency on the issue, I kept calling up and kept being told the different stories by the Coventry staff. I took matters into my own hands and called the Exeter branch who later told me the car only left their branch on Saturday (bearing in mind It was Wednesday when I made the request). I was told that Monday of this week the car would be on site, ready to be delivered to me. I call up on Monday, no car... and no explanation for why this is the case. I then called up again yesterday to get an update to be once again told very minimal information. It is now over a week since I ordered the car, and no where closer to receiving it. I am honestly so shocked and appalled by the experience. I never write reviews but people need to be aware of this. First the false advertising and then the terrible customer service. I will be taking matters further. ****** UPDATE AFTER 6 MONTHS- Even more of a reason to avoid this poor company After 3 months of having this car i was on my way to the shops when my car stopped IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. My engine light came on and the car had gone into limp mode. I contacted car store coventry where i got the car from and was told to book the car in for a check at a local dealer. Having checked over the car, I advised my contact that there was an issue with the car that needed solving despite their diagnostics machine not picking this up. I was told that unless a fault was picked up nothing could be done. A month later Same issue and then a month later once again. At this point i have now contacted my finance company to try and get in touch with car store. Not only are they ignoring them but theyre also ignoring me. Ontop of that ive taken my car in for a check today as i could hear some funny sounds and turns out theres also gearbox damage and issues with breaks which were allegedly sorted out during the service car store did before i got the care. These people are criminals sell you damaged cars and play nice until they get their money. I will be taking legal action. Dealt with Hamza this week for a mercedes cla. Fast, Polite and Good service provided. Only disappointment which stopped a 5 star review was the fact there were no mats or Sat nav SD card in the car. Other than that very nice car.

The experience from the team is astonishing. From the moment you walk in the door, and are greeted by the warming desk clerk, to the moment they bring the vehicle to the exit for you with enough fuel to get home. Really impressed by the team and the sales. Omar was one of a kind and stunningly amazing at his job as well as being a kind, funny and caring person. The latter personal traits make dealing with him a breeze and an effortless joy. Very impressed by his mannerism and also his expertise. Walked away extremely happy. Highly recommended.

Bought my car 3 weeks ago - when it was delivered and still on the low loader, I found a gouge underneath the front skirt that was not shown on the video - the inside of the car had not been sanitised or cleaned the seats were covered in stains and tyre marks on the inside of the roof lining - I had to complain to Evans Halshaw to get some action as Omar from Car Store completely ignored me. I am still waiting for the car handbook and service manual. The car had 3 new tyres and one odd one with perish splits in the wall. No car jack and only one key supplied and that was cloned. Think twice.

Bought a used car from them. they promptly answered all the questions. they help you with the best deal and would go to any extent to see the customer leaves happily, loved the overall experience.

I purchased Mercedes C Class (black) from Car store. I would recommend Car Store at any given time. The car which I bought didn't had log book (which I came to know after making payment as earlier I was told they had everything in place) and it caused problems. I was bit aggressive as I never thought there wont be a log book or will end up in such odd situation and that too when I was travelling from London in train and hoping to get back home in car. We were in position to cancel deal as I couldn't come back to Coventry again due to my schedule. But the staff and the guy who was assisting me was just on it. He just wanted to get tax done. Post Box machine failure, then problem with their own system but somehow the whole team got together and made it happen alongside DVLA who was on call. ARB was the person who even put his own card (personal) to get things resolved. These lads are resilient, committed, understandable and most importantly will find a way to resolution. Not like other used car dealers who just doesn't give a damn. I wish them all the best and continue your service to motoring world.

I had recently communicated with a staff member called Nicole and discussed a car I was interested in, the car was a ford fiesta and she informed the car had not yet arrived and that I would be first to be contacted when it arrived as I was prepared to put a deposit down and then pay in full a few days later. Advertisement was removed without being informed. I think its poor customer service to not be informed as promised when the car arrived and then to find out the car is no longer advertised. It’s false hope and misleading to customers. So what you say on your website does no reflect at all on your customer service. No voicemail was left No email was sent and communication had been through both. I wouldn't waste my time looking at the site or evening going there.

Very happy with the way I was treated, came to collect my car today and was sat down straight away. The staff were great with making sure we used different pens and screens between us. Great price on the car for its age and mileage. The battery died in the car after a few days but Nadeem and the crew sorted out a replacement, they even came out to help us jump start the car before taking it back to be repaired. Great service by all the staff

Come to an agreement to buy a car from here. When I first spoke to sales rep he gave me a list of things that had been done to the vehicle prior to sale. Further emails seem to change the discretion and extent of work that had been carried out, rear bumper had originally been resprayed but now it seemed it was "touched up". Referb alloys could now get "sprayed" The car was 5 years old so in accordance with manufacturers requirements the cam belt needed to be changed. I enquired about this and the sales rep responded by saying "we sell our cars cheap so we are not going to change the cam belt" These people are selling cars that are or could cost us as customers a lot of money further down the line. PROFIT BEFORE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Thanks Jo Khan. Stay away people!!!!!!!!!

Bought a Mercedes GLA from here while buying the car the service was good and helpful, although the after sales has been appalling sent numerous emails to find numbers for the breakdown cover with no reply, finally got the number after many phone calls, also found out that THE CAR WAS SOLD TO ME WITH ONLY 2 RUN FLAT TYRES on the back and standard tyres on the front after being told the car had run flats on it, Wish I’d gone to a main dealer Wouldn’t recommend

Just had a test drive in potential new car. Must say the whole experience so far at Car Store has been great. The vehicle was MMC (move me closer) from another centre. The drive today with Sean was really good. He's a knowledgeable young man and provided a very professional service.

I was in the dealership the other day looking to buy a car but didnt really know what my best options were. I was approached buy a young man called Cameron and was very surprised to learn he was the manger! He came across very confident and polite and had a very good understanding of the product as a whole. He made the process of buying a new car very simple and painless and I was every impressed with the service I received ????

Was given a valuation online at Evans Halshaw to sell a car which made some assumptions of wear and tear damage, scuffed wheels etc. Once at the store I received a completely different lower valuation at nearly 20% less quoting the same things for the reason in reduction as I had previous inputted online and they had no idea what had been given from the website. It is misleading and time wasting just to get you to the store. An accurate valuation would have saved everyone the bother as i declared the scuffs etc. at the first step. Final valuation much less than everyone else too and took an age to get from them as they refer to a third party.

Sean has been really helpful with the hand over of the purchase of the vehicle. It was a really easy and a well informed process. He answered all the questions and queries we had. He is a credit to the company!

We got a car from car store , Coventry recently. Overall experience was fantastic with excellent friendly team. We went to car store on a Sunday and paid deposit for a car 40miles away and got the car delivered next day. Daniel and Bradley were very good and professional. Bradley kindly drove 80 miles to pick up the car and was very friendly and professional. Daniel has a really good approach to customers and is friendly, clear with good advice. Daniel offered to get some small scratches fixed the next day which was very kind. Overall great people at car store and would recommend it.

The day was lone but as expected, the car is great. The price displayed on the car was not the price put through on the finance and very little was mentioned about totals just monthly figures. I am really disgusted when going back to them regarding the £295 difference that "prices go up and down everyday and we cant be expected to change the signage every time" also a Alloy policy was added that I understood was free and actually cost £299. Apparently nothing the store can do and I should go through head office, apparently nothing head office can do I have to go back to the store. More then happy with the car but I will never use carstore again.
