Great local arts and crafts place in Nottinghamshire. Artists work on site and are happy to have a chat about what inspires them, talk about the the things they have designed etc.

Cafe food is a rip off. Avoid at all costs. Ordered a bacon and scrambled egg sandwich. After waiting 35 minutes was finally presented with two pieces of cheap brown bread, burnt bacon and scrambled eggs straight out of the microwave. They hadn't even bothered to disguise the fact given they were still in the shape of the bowl they'd just cooked them in! Would have been bad enough at a greasy spoon but the fact we paid £7.50 for this muck compelled me to leave this review. Only positive I can say is the food wasn't quite as bad as the service.

Visited here yesterday to buy some jewellery. The lady in the craft shop was very knowledgeable of the pieces for sale. I often buy items to mark my birthday from here. I was very pleased with my new cuff!

Love this place. Always have interesting exhibitions and individual items in the shop. They sell good quality art products and the cafe/restaurant is always good homely food. This is delightful place within easy reach for me to take my elderly mother for an afternoon.

The Patchings Festival is not only about Art, but also a lot of characters. There were so many artists demonstrating to show the visitors how they created their artwork. There were many art material supplies too. People could talk to knowledgeable traders to get advice or try some before purchasing some. It's suitable for a family day out or as a mini break. I think it's worth of visiting Patchings Festival.

Visited with friend and found Patchings Art Centre to be welcoming and friendly. We called in at the craft shop which was bursting with handmade goodies perfect for gifts. Quality of goods amazing and no two items identical. The centre holds a variety of craft classes available throughout the year for adults and children and the receptionist was most helpful. Finally we called in at the cafe for coffee and cake, once again a friendly welcome, coffee and cake were glorious. Thank you

We attended their festival a week ago and what a great for a first visit to this place. Loved the busy marquees filled with great exhibition painters. Bought brushes and paints and came back with much enthusiasm to get painting.

Located near to the Nottinghamshire village of Calverton, Patchings offers art in its many forms (including art courses, cameo landscapes and tuition courses) along with exhibition galleries, a tea rooms and retail art outlets. I would recommend a visit to Patchings art centre, check it out for special events, photographic exhibitions or art tuition.

My friend and I go here every year. It's all about crafts, showing their wares and selling. With some demonstrating, from pottery to painting to woodwork to blowing glass. With refreshment tents seating and even live music, to enjoy while you relax to eat and drink. You will not be disappointed, as we weren't. People come in coach loads, with plenty of parking. However it's all on grass, both car parking and main events, just to make you aware to wear suitable attire.

Excellent day out at the art and crafts festival. Really well run for parking and plenty of stalls, gifts and demos whether you are arty or not. When there aren't events on there's a cafe and galleries with a sculpture trail and some gifts. Lovely woods. A tenner for the festival but plenty of art material bargains and some free demos.

What a quality art & crafts centre. My wife and I are regular visitors to the restaurant and galleries and highly recommend it to everyone. The hand made goods are as wonderful as the highly approachable staff who work there. Rosemary, Wendy and Tas(Tas is a professional Artist) always make your visit a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The restaurant is brilliant, the food is great and the staff are the best. I highly recommend a visit.

Great location and friendly staff, food is always great here and the choice is plentiful. If you have time go check out the shops in the same centre as they have some unique items for sale.

Great deals on art materials and brushes. Fantastic demos by professional artists. Only gripe is poor food. Basic sandwiches and cakes mainly which is difficult for those of us who can't eat gluten. Won't stop going to patchings but will take a packed lunch next time

A beautiful place to visit. Lovely cafe, stunning short walk, and lots to look at in their galleries. Events and art workshops throughout the year.

Very helpful and pleasant staff. Vegetarian rather than vegan breakfast on menu but chef made extra fried potatoes instead of egg to make vegan. No milk alternatives but decent black coffee

Worst place ever!! I took my daughter who is 6, I thought they would have some fun areas set up for kids or reasonable priced supplies to encourage people to try art. What it actually is is a gallery and shop where everything is VERY EXPENSIVE, unless you are seriously into art or very rich it's not worth a visit, it could be so much more....dissapointed

Very interesting spot. Artworks in several studios in a converted farmyard. Pleasant café for light meals, snacks and drinks with waitress service; outdoor tables too. Lovely walk through the woodland on a grass track, leading to the Lake with bridge and rowing boat in the style of Monet's 'Waterlilies'. Unspoiled - no vending machines, burger vans or 'adventure play areas'. Plenty of free parking.

We are lucky to have this successful and inspiring place in an area so much regenerated from coal mining. Helpful staff, great courses and super massive annual show. Concerts too and good food.

I love it here. The staff are so nice, there's plenty to see and a place to get some nice food. A lovely big car park, an art supplies shop and events that can be attended throughout the year. A must for artists and art lovers.
